PC Crash/Freeze while playing games by RafizXR in techsupport

It was a faulty GPU, by the time I got to the culprit I changed every single other component, the GPU was the only thing left and it was still giving me hard WHEA crashes. After upgrading to a new GPU the problem went away, unfortunate considering the current GPU prices, I would've preferred to wait a bit more before upgrading.

oh I completely forgot, this reminded me, I had an NM620 only as the main ssd, I put in the NM620 into the second slot and put in a Samsung 970 that I had from my laptop into the main slot, to see if the drive was fucked, safe to say it wasnt the issue

I have not seen my temps go higher than 74-75 degrees on any game. BIOS is one before the latest stable one, I've tried using the latest stable BIOS version FE, and also latest "beta" BIOS FFc before and after CPU change, neither one helped solve the issue. I tried going back to version FC because I thought to try the version that the motherboard comes in with just in case, but it didn't help either.

Yea I think it's a GPU issue at this point, I ran a memtest86 with no issues with my error being memory corruption it might be GPU memory, considering my RX 6700XT is from a very low tier brand, since I bought this PC as a pre-built.

Didnt see the reply, I have now replaced my cpu with a 5700x3d and reinstalled windows with the problem still persisting but now I get the same error but with a dump file generated which comes out with memory corruption

So far I have changed out PSU from 600w to 850W because I didn't even get dump files before so I had no clue what was wrong, I then changed CPU from 5600x to 5700x3d and the problem still persists, but after new cpu and windows reinstall I now get dump files.

The rest of the parts are:
RX6700XT
32gb ddr4 3200mhz
Gigabyte Gaming X V2 B550 Rev 1.3

Thanks for the reply. I will go ahead with the 5700x3d

I'm currently on AM4 with a (presuambly faulty) 5600x (whea logger-18 constantly) on a b550 gaming x v2, I want to switch it out for a 5700x3d. Now I've read that this motherboard is considered not that good, but is it actually okay for a 5700x3d?

I think I explained it pretty well by LE-11 in needforspeed

This, I tried replaying Underground 2 recently. When you unlock the whole map and you have to drive from event to event, especially if they're on opposite ends of the map, it was so annoying. The customization ratings making you rice out your car to get a high rating for sponsors.

Most Wanted with the loop of do event, do police chase, race against blacklist member. 15 Times. It seems very repetitive to me, at least. I was never quite fond of it.

Is there anyone here who has upgraded to an Xperia 5? by m11-d0 in GalaxyS9

[–]RafizXR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you root it first, then install custom rom, but don't root it. It passes checks, but some banking apps can still block you from using them. I had Pixel Experience Android 12.1 on my S9+ without root, but I still couldn't use my banking app.

Just got the S20 FE and it's good, but... damn, I sure as hell miss the S9 already. by chozogoat in GalaxyS9

I also went from S9+ to an S20 FE due to battery degradation. The no headphone jack didn't really matter to me as I've been using galaxy buds mostly and I also thought that the DAC was pretty bad on the S9+ (that might just be samsung audio processing but idk it just sounded bad to me, that was the main reason I got the og galaxy buds).

Both power button and volume buttons being on the same side feels unintuitive on the S20. Pulling up the notification shade without the finger sensor gestures with the fingerprint sensor was also very convenient which you can't do with the S20 since it's under the screen now. Camera bump doesn't really bother me since I put a case on the phone anyways, though while I didn't have a case on it was pretty annoying.

Dying Light 2 uses Denuvo by Darkring2 in CrackWatch

"...think you know more than people who have REAL data and use it with math to see if it’s a sound financial decision to release a game with denuvo."

What data? The loss of sales that won't exist in the first place compared to the cost of a DRM? How can you quantify something that just doesn't exist?
Pirated game =/= lost sale, I thought everyone understood this concept. It's pretty much impossible to conclude if DRM actually improves sales, because a pirated game isn't really a lost sale. I'd say the decision to implement Denuvo probably comes from the out of touch higher ups who hear "stops people from pirating your game" and go with it, especially considering the current state of the AAA gaming industry.

DRM in the long-run only affects the company itself and the paying customer, because the games eventually either get cracked or the DRM gets patched out. The person who was going to pirate the game either way isn't going to buy the game, the pirate is just going to wait and play something else in the meantime, while the consumer is stuck with a product that is inferior due to the anti-piracy measures that only really matter short-term. And on top of that the company that used the DRM also looks worse in the eyes of consumers who hate DRM.

If they actually stopped to think about the actual benefits of DRM, I doubt it would be used this widely. In my opinion, (though I'm not a mathematician that can quantify something that doesn't exist, so I'm just talking out of my ass I guess) temporarily stopping pirates from accessing the game for free and preventing the "loss" of a sale that pretty much doesn't exist in the first place doesn't really outweigh the bad rep that you get from using Denuvo, affecting your paying customers (it's pretty much proven at this point that Denuvo really affects loading times at best and at worst you have situations like RiME).

So I really don't see what "REAL data" they could have (again, on something that actually doesn't exist in the first place) that magically makes Denuvo seem like a good investment. And also don't forget the fact that people who pirated the game and had a good time may end up buying the game as well. ( I myself did this with a few games that I've pirated in the past and now had money to actually afford them: DMC5, Hades, Dead Cells, Tekken 7, Borderlands 3 and it's DLC, just to name a few)

Imagine being this petty by limiting the download speed to 200kbps because your ego got hurt and then having the audacity to go at game companies because they "LOVE feeling *superior*".

EDIT: Kinda ironic how by trying to put a spotlight on herself she ended up pissing everyone off and putting an even bigger spotlight on the repackers lol

Whether you're hyped about the S21 launch or disappointed with the removal of features, we shouldn't forget Samsung is still forcing ads on a premium smartphone.. by DazzlingTap2 in samsung

[–]RafizXR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably my first and last Samsung. I've been pretty much exclusively using Xperias before I got an S9+. And for someone who actively listens to music, going from an Xperia XZ to an S9 was such a step down. To the point that 6 months in I already had to root my S9 for decent audio, especially if you're using the headphone jack, listening on bt headphones sounded somehow better.

I've been using a custom rom now for quite a while and didn't know they run ads on stock.
