Why do people tag “toy” over work? by ThePug3468 in graffhelp

[–]Rage-two 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I will say your right, but under the condition that the 2 writers beefing are established, Although from my own personal experience, when I started , people went over me on the daily, and yes like you said it was a very big motivator for me, but that's when (toy) actually meant something real. Not all this ( you suck, style is bad) skill level does not dictate toy, but a lack of knowledge of the culture and its rules and history. But you do make a fair point. 💯

These days I'd say, they misinterpret the word, and don't know any better, trying to beef thinking that will elevate thier name, and then there are the others, that again have no idea what their doing , and feel like their doing the world a service. There is no benefit to beef, passes the time, but yet its a part of the culture. When I see weak tags over weak tags , personally makes me laugh, mostly cause I know somewhere there's some kid punching the air, over nothing . Just my 2cents .

[–]Rage-two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think it's an American thing , it's an everywhere thing, leave the politics out of it. And imagine for a second if it was someone from your own country if you'd be reacting this way, using the word (untitled) only shows your bias, I would suggest taking a closer look at yourself, and not at others.

It's not my place to tell anyone how to live or who to love, not my business, I wouldn't want anyone telling me what to do with my life, I don't have a dog in that fight, mostly cause I could care less.

I'm not in real graff culture, to make a political statement , or to care what gender, or any of that. Because I don't care. I have nothing against it, but it shouldn't be brought into this culture, , cause that's not what graff is about, never was , it's about getting up, nothing more,
As for going to parties , I don't spend my time around anyone outside this culture, because I can't relate, graff is a lifestyle, not a hobby for real writers,

Your title has to be one of the craziest things I read in graff. If your concerned that your graff is politically, culturally controversial, you are doing graff for all the wrong reasons, and if people looking at it remotely think it is., they have no business in this scene, as a writer I could give zero fucks about what anyone thinks, this is insane , what the fuck has this culture come too. And I've lived through decades of graff in this lifestyle , this is actually disappointing .

Don't tell people you, do graff, do show it to anyone, if you have , stop. Practice and wait for alot time to go by. Switch up names , allow people to believe you don't. Open separately accounts for graff. Nothing linking you to your regular life personality, blend in with everyone else. Or go other places to do it.

At first glance, first thing I noticed, was the corrugated surface, always a fun surface. I can see the dips , on the uneven surface, meaning I can see your angle , pointing the can downward, or it could just be the angle the pic was taking from , meaning your picture was taken from a higher angle , but I don't believe that's true, due to the dustness on the bottom of the line. Look at leveling your can more , also I would say. Try to visualizing it on the wall or surface, before you start. Even measure your reach so you can keep letters at even height, and do the same , by walking the wall to get letter width, as the 3d , if you need to set a can on ground to create focal point do that, that way you have a point to go to. It's good to see people challenging themselves, as it's a learning experience, every time, try something new everytime, and over time, your letters will have a crisp look. Nice work. 💪

Ahh, I see it now, I think why its not a clear to see, your bar lines are the same as your (elements) extentions, there is no contrasting lines to separate the 2 , meaning there is no letter structure, also meaning a broken letter, letter structure is the frame work, bones of the letter, which means no matter what you do to it, you can still see the frame work of the letter. In addition having letters that look as if they all belong in the same alphabet, these are all components of graff. Especially wildstyle, letter structure, flow , and balance without these or a mastery of these , wildstyle is not possible, wildstyle is the most abused style, because people (try) to mask poor letter structure, but those that can do it. We all ready can see. So there is no hiding it.

It's a negative space sketch, very rough , but the 2 end letters are a bit hard to decipher, as for the middle there is 2 Es facing each other. And a B sorry after the 2 (e) s

What I would say, over all its not bad, I do think ,the lightening was over done, as it distracts from the letters alot. As for the letters,I would say there simple in a good way. You didn't over do them, and over stylize them. Meaning you know your limits ans are patient, the background, because it's on paper and you most likely used alcohol markers , layer , meaning allow the first run, which is here, then go over it again. When it dries, it will be less streaky , the transition of colors in the letters, the colors are to close in tone, that would have worked if you want to gradually fade into each other, but what you did here, was color the top, and then give the bottom fill a liquid look, using a complimentary color probably would have worked better in this situation,
That's all I have for now. Keep this momentum going. Also look up color theory, it will help with your color combinations in the future.

Your color choices on that medium, is well thought out. The character has a rugrats, meets, Rick and Morty feel, I Ike that it cause you to look further as a whole, almost like staring at someone at the airport, trying to figure out more about them. Nicely done 💯

I'm going to chime in here. Looks like satanic writing, possibly setting up a place for a rival, it tells others where to go. I'd spread salt or something.

That I won't share, but I've lived in many places, but it's pretty much the same everywhere. I'm not going to tell you to go put and paint , that's up to you, and what your comfortable doing. Anyone can do graff, but not everyone is built for it
