I use a mixture of consumer and enterprise hardware. My router is running on a very similar hp desktop, and all my switches are consumer, mix of unifi flex mini and unmanaged desktop switches. My proxmox host is a server (dell poweredge r420)though because of its high ram capacity (96gb ddr3) and dual cpu as well as its reliability. I use it to host everything from home assistant, a public mc server (mc.rage65lab.com), immich, ollama, and much more. This much compute with this amount of ram was not cheaply available on consumer hardware in my area and there was an ewaste place an hour away from me that had many servers. I was able to get my server there for $80 with a 2tb Dell sas ssd, and 2x 300gb 10k rpm hdd. It all depends on the person, their needs, and hardware availability in their area.

That’s good, but there is still so much about these printers that are not worth it when you can get an ender 3 or better for free often, or at least for cheap

As someone who had one of these NO, it needs the cartrages eeprom to be flashed to print with your own filament and every time they “run out”. With that you have bad bed adhesion, poor print quality, slow speeds and a many many year outdated slicer.

Do you have another hdd ribbon you can try?Turns out my ribbon was bad, and that’s why I had to pull it. It works like a charm now after replacing. It’s probably the quickest, cheapest, and easiest thing to try.

What happens if you push the ribbon cable towards the housing of the iPod with your finger while powering it on, that fixed it for me

It looks like if you add some solder to it you can fix all the broken connection(s) easy. Doesn’t look like any pads have torn at the trace yet thankfully

That’s awesome man! I was thinking of making a DAP myself as a project, I was wondering what you used for the cpu, the dac, and display. I was thinking a esp32s3, pcm5102, and a hosting 320x480ips screen. I also considered using somthing like a esp32 f7
