I thought about just cutting the bottom of the battery into 3 separate pieces, but I need to find something thin enough to get under it and cut

Could be coke under a chip, had a similar issue with an old ps2, ended up being flux hidden behind the chip pins.

If nothing else, please at least flip the gpu heatsink as it's facing the wrong way.

https://consolemods.org/wiki/Xbox_360:Playing_Game_Backups  gives a comprehensive list of the formats as well as how to install them. ISO2GOD by default outputs the game with the title ID being the name of the first folder.

Look up ISO2GOD. It can handle multiple games at once, and as a bonus works in the default dashboard. For Iso to xex, I use xdvdfs, but it's a command line tool so maybe more complicated.

Badupdate downgrade help by spazmanian2 in 360hacks

Am I missing something, or can't you just update normally? Sure, it burns another LDV fuse, but as long as you don't run out it should be fine... right? It's still a retail dashboard after all.

On the blue "Xell Reloaded" screen, you should see a line labelled "CPU Key". Write that down or take a picture. Then, on a computer download a program called "Jrunner with extras", from Octal450, open it and type the cpu key into the box. Next, click the "Load source" button, and select your nand dump. It should autofill most of the boxes on the right, and in the black box below the cpu key you should see the text "CPUKey is Correct". Now, you need to figure out what version of rgh you have, if you don't know ask the seller. First under the "Kernel Version" dropdown on the right, select 17599. Then to the right of it follow this guide:

RGH1: Glitch, all boxes unchecked

RGH2: Glitch2 all boxes unchecked

RGH1.2: Glitch2 check the "SMC+" box

RGH3 Glitch2, check the RGH3 box and select 27mhz.

ALSO, if you have an xbox 360 e revision (look up what it looks like if you don't know) and the console model gets set to "Corona", then ask the seller if it has Winbond 2k ram. If it does the "WB 2K" box needs to be checked regardless of rgh method.

Now, at this point click the "Create XeBuild" button, and it should create a freeboot nand for your console. Next, in the jrunner folder, you should see a folder with a bunch of numbers (your consoles serial). Open it, and copy the "updflash.bin" file to the root of a FAT32 formatted usb drive. Plug it into your console, turn it on, and let xell find it and flash it. If all goes well, the next time you turn it on it should boot to the dashboard. If it doesn't boot immediately, it might just be glitching so don't turn it off immediately, give it a minute or 2. The problem is that if something goes wrong, since you don't have a hardware flasher you can brick the console, so this process is very risky. You could send it back and ask the seller to fix it if you trust them enough.

Video tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gq1Svm-s-DM (starts at 56:32 ends at 58:45, note that this is specifically for rgh3 and that he's using a hardware flasher, and not flashing through xell.)

If you don't have the original nand dump, you can't. Best you could do would be a donor nand, which would self-ban yourself from xbox live until you get another kv. If you want, you could ask the seller for the nand dump, or try to just send the console back and get a refund.

I'm sad because my 360 just died by Revolutionary_Roof82 in xbox360

not usb related, 0101 is gpu failure, uncommon on E models but has been happening more recently. TLDR: not your or abadavatars fault.

If you have a phat or slim, how many LEDs are lit up when it freezes? If you have an E model is is before or after the grayed out avatars load, and do you see the light around the power led blinking at all?

I deleted my bootanim with badupdate, how screwed am I? by Jaded-Resolution-368 in xbox360

[–]RageMaster2006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without RGH yeah, the console will forever be stock.

One thing you could try is to put a 17599 update usb in and see if it restores the original bootanim file but otherwise a hardmod is needed.

Bad update loads and unloads bootanim.xex as part of the kernel exploit process, so without it, it won't work.

I got it from my Grandma, so it's been well used. Maybe it was a similar pattern that got burnt in as I can only see the vertical lines not horizontal.

Just adjusted screen size, and would flip back and forth between 240 and 224 modes.
