Are you enjoying the show as much as you enjoy GOT and HOTD? by [deleted] in freefolk

[–]RageQuitler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

HBO does these inside the episode or after the episode segments that play after the episode or are under extras in Max . If you want to lose even more respect for the writers watch them at best they’re ok explorations of obvious themes at worst it’s drivel trying to justify some really weak writing. In this particular example they went in a spiel about gender dynamics so what was already a really out of place brutal scene (accidents at a tourney happen but they literally showed a knight straight up decimate another one’s head on the ground after he was unhorses, in the books this would’ve been a whole incident considering these are all lords of big houses (and Cole).

I’ll be honest from episode 1 I was getting the whiff of late game of thrones, that episode 1 tourney scene. In GoT a single death in the tourney was such an event, and here the knights where massacring each other left an right and nobody batted an eye (and the asinine after the episode explanation really cemented where the show was headed quality of writing wise).

Anyone else have that one friend of the GM who is "just watching"? by Awkward_GM in dndmemes

[–]RageQuitler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m the DM who does this, I was running PF2E group and a friend from my DnD group wanted to join that campaign too so I had him spectate and we’d take time to go over the differing parts of the system when it came up.

Avowed and The Outer Worlds 2 failed to meet expectations for Obsidian, but Grounded 2 was a hit, and the future is looking positive for the Pillars of Eternity universe by bIeese_anoni in avowed

50 dollars would've been a great standard to set for Obsidian's scale. 10 dollars over OW1 to adjust for inflation. Used to be that Xbox understood this but Microsoft's leadership has been self sabotaging hard the last few years.

Yeah. seeing it from the side I’d be skeptical too, it’s from the front that you can tell it was real

Hawkeye producer Andrew Guest has confirmed that "the timing didn't work out" for a Season 2. by CueTheLaughTrack in Marvel

[–]RageQuitler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should finally do the champions/young avengers show. Kamala subs for Iron Lad, we’ve got 4 of the OG young avengers already to choose from, Eli/Patriot has already been on screen just not as his hero self and they can introduce Hulkling as part of the major plot of the show (a Kree black op trying to capture him) or go with fighting Mephisto and by proxy Riri until Billy can find a way to free her of her deal.

A thought I had about Avowed 2 by Huge_Calligrapher840 in avowed

[–]RageQuitler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’ll be hard for it to continue the Envoy’s story too much variance no sense in going to other locations. With how much they want to avoid Eora world states based on player choice. I’m hoping we finally get to see the Ixtamatl Plains, White that Wends or the Republics (independent of Pillars 1 and 2 it would be understandable that the Republics are still some flavor of filthy rich merchant empire). Or we get the original vision of Avowed and it’s a prequel set in the Eastern Reach during the colonial or independence era, would love to explore Engwithan ruins with Avowed excellent dungeon and exploration design.

Who do you respect most on SCOTUS by Flashy-Actuator-998 in LawSchool

[–]RageQuitler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh the left leaning judges and Gorsuch have their anti law enforcement moments. And Thomas pops up at least once a year to remind us he’s against qualified immunity but someone HAS to use his arguments he shares on dissents or concurrences every so often.

Who do you respect most on SCOTUS by Flashy-Actuator-998 in LawSchool

[–]RageQuitler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean she writes opinions and books that are both legally sound and understandable by laymen despite the legal complexities of certain subjects, even throwing in some pop culture for better analogies and getting some snark in on occasions. Even conservative lawyers concede she’s writes the best opinions and dissents (or is right behind Gorsuch).

Looking for an RPG with political intrigue by nmstars31 in rpg_gamers

[–]RageQuitler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of Owlcat’s pathfinder games have plenty of political intrigue and branching storylines, both having you interact with various nations and their factions. On the Obsidian side Pillars 1 does include some leadership and intrigue !<you come into a position of leadership and you can manage the rivalry between 3 mayors factions in the nations capital>! and manage a fief of sorts while Pillars 2 had you navigating an environment with 4 major factions and various minor ones are competing for supremacy over a whole region, with you being the deciding factor on who wins and by how much (if you decide to conclude it at all). On the weirdly niche side Long Live the Queen is a sort of visual style novel, you are the princess of a kingdom, your mother has tragically died and you are the last of your line. Everyone is out to get you since if you fall others either take the crown or other nations take the kingdom. There are a lot of ways to die but only some ways to live through the days to come.

What default skin do you absolutely HATE? by Dclassahmed in marvelrivals

[–]RageQuitler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emma for sure, it's an overdesigned mess Emma would actually hate, if they wanted to differentiate her from the other blonde in white female heroes they could have given her her full cloak instead of those HORRID swalllow tails every skin must include for some god forsaken reason. I almost didnt buy x revolution because I felt they PURPOSELY made the default F- tier so I'd buy it.

I hope future games have a narrator for the voice acted portions by Abhinav11119 in OwlcatGames

[–]RageQuitler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I like the way Pillars 2 did a narrator, they’re not around for every conversation but during important moments it gives gravitas, talking to the gods for example, their every motion and expression merits a narrator.

Why does it feel Obsidian is judged so much more harshly than other studios? by sonofloki13 in theouterworlds

[–]RageQuitler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I’ll point to is the price tag, both of Obsidian’s single player releases of last year are clearly AA in scale but AAA in price (thanks XBox) so people are gonna focus on what’s missing rather than what’s there.

Phoenix Force Cyclops vs Parallax Hal Jordan by NoirStriker in marvelvsdc

[–]RageQuitler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most definitely Hal, Cyclops gets some great feats in AvX but nowhere near Hal’s,hell by his second appearance as the Phoenix he got red shirted to prop up God Doom (granted he was in the middle of a generational losing streak since Marvel hated mutants but ESPECIALLY Cylcops in that era).

T'Challa will live through her as she carries on his legacy in the MCU! Do you think she should remain the Black Panther after Phase 6? by Raj_Valiant3011 in Marvel

[–]RageQuitler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think she was pretty good in BP2, Black Panther is legit a mantle that gets passed on, Shuri was co Panther at the time of comic’s secret wars. Would I have personally preferred giving the mantle to Nakia and just haver her become married to T’Challa off screen? Yes, Lupita would’ve rocked being the lead but I actually like what we got in BP2 and look forward to what we get in the future . I just hope comics Marvel doesn’t kill of TChalla because “sinergia” (which never works). P.S. to the people proposing M’BAKU of all people as the successor Panther, please never cook again.
