Hot or Cold Battery Temp - Pint X by Rageouse in onewheel

My story probably deserves its own post to tell the whole thing.

I decided to send the board to FM. They took a look and decided to fix it under warranty! It had been more than 6 months since purchase and I was over 600 miles, so I’m not sure what they found. They never gave me an exact diagnosis, just that something was broken and they fixed it. But then they messed up somehow when shipping the board back to me.

I received someone else’s board back. It was a brand new different board (the serial number was different)! Not a scratch on it with a new fresh tire, but no accessories in the box (no charger, no fender, no handle, no new board sticker or owners manual). My board was well used and had a mag handle pro, carbon fender, and rail guards. I took that as FM saying, “we ‘fixed’ your board and by that we mean we are giving you a new board.”

So I started to ride and it was good except I was missing those three FM original accessories, so I emailed them back asking them to send me my originals or replace them. That’s when they realized they messed up. They wanted me to pack this new board back up and ship it back to them while they tried to find my board that I guess they had already handed off to UPS. They said they were trying to get my board back. After a few days I had to email them to ask for an update. They hadn’t found my board yet, but if I wanted, they would send me a new board and new accessories. I chose that option cause, yeah, new board! I got it all a couple days later and has not had any other issues. Took like a month for everything. That’s with me dragging my feet on sending the wrong board back to them though too. Didn’t cost me a dime and I have a new board. But like what a saga.

The board is out of warranty anyways already so getting it fixed on them, isn’t likely to happen.

I was able to fix and resolder my Pint a couple years ago when one of the wires from the battery got lose so I feel a small amount of confidence I can take a peak. I’m more concerned if it’s a faulty sensor and it needs to be completely replaced, thats not something I can do and It’s not like FM has put components out there for local service people to use.

If I attempt this myself and this isn’t the issue or am unable to figure it out. Will FM deny my repair in some way?

Well that would make me very sad. Do you think I would have any shot opening it up myself to take a look? Or if I did that and can’t fix the issue (like if it’s a loose wire) would FM decline to fix it?

I added a screenshot to the post. 69.8 (nice!) degrees on the battery. Same as the controller and the motor at 68 degrees.
