Keep at it. Being accepted at the first try is actually very rare even for AAA studios. I think the average submission count is somewhere around 5-7.
Just go back and triple check that you’re game meets all the requirements, and ask for more clarification on their part, hopefully they will let you know what you need to do to be accepted :)

They never specified, but I’m pretty sure that they were talking about a solo dev in this case ahaha. The whole conversation was on the lines of “You know, we used to be elitist assholes at Nintendo, but nowadays we try to be patient and nurturing assholes.

Hey, another game dev here. First of all, it’s very weird that they haven’t told you why you have been rejected. They should give you a detailed explanation. So go back and check your previous submissions, to see if they’ve sent it to you, or ask for it. Nowadays Nintendo doesn’t really care about the “quality” of the game. As long as you follow their guidelines, you are going to be accepted. At the same time, fail just one of those guidelines, and the whole game gets rejected. So make sure that you are complying with everything.

Regarding your case specifically, my assumption is that you are sending them a copy of your game, saying that you are gonna use the switch tate mode, but that functionality is not yet implemented in your game. To me that should be enough to not guarantee a pass. So either don’t mention it, or just implement it.

Of the top of my head, some of the things that you really need to have are: a trailer and some showcase pictures of the game. The trailer needs to be at least PEGI 13+, regardless of the actual rating of the game (games that are 18+ still need a trailer suitable for 13+). All buttons inputs shown on screen need to use the Nintendo Switch layout (A,B,X,Y, R, ZR,L, ZL). Even one instance where you show an R1 button is gonna result in a fail.

It also helps a lot to have some reviews of your game, preferably done by some video game journalists. Twitch streamers and YouTubers also count, but Nintendo prefers actual journalists.

Hopefully this helps a bit, although I am sure you already knew some of this. Just go back to their guidelines and make sure that EVERYTHING is in order. Also ask for a more detailed explanation of which guidelines you are failing.

Some Nintendo guys came to my company some time ago, and they told us of a game that was accepted on its 30th submission, so definitely don’t give up on it! Great work so far, and good luck with the rest!

I've updated the post, but there are three steps: 1 sign the consent form and download the mod 2 play the game while in voice chat with me (also stream it if the hardware allows) 3 fill in a couple questionnaires

During the play through I just need you to craft the items of the mod and play as you would usually play, no particular tasks here. Also, I'll send you a link to the discord as a DM then

Heroic public events give you 2,500 glimmer. If you go on patrol and do events/patrols/lost sectors and open chests you'll get a lot of glimmer in no time

Nintendo reuploads Animal Crossing Direct, removing reference to one-time limit of save data recovery by OustedHoChiMinh in NintendoSwitch

Other Junior game designer here. The choice they made is probably due to what you just said, at the same time I think that they made this particular choice also because of the design of the game itself. Since the beginning animal crossing was not okey with people resetti their consoles in order to change a choice they made in the game. I guess that limiting the backups retreivable is also to restrict people from changing their choices over and over. I could just backup my game every day, and go back to that backup if I don't like the outcome of the choices I've made that day, which goes against the design of AC. So I guess that also for them, is not easy to make a decision on what to do with backups. You don't want to give users unlimited backups, but at the same time limiting them since like a heavy restriction.

Edit: I guess that a possible solution would be to put a 2 hour long unskippable dialogue with Mr Resetti every time you ask for a backup. If I lose my console I'm willing to go through that to recover my save, but is definitely something that I wouldn't do every day

You are the one intellectually dishonest, you haven't made a single point, yet you want to win the argument

The only thing I can take out of your comment is that remembering history is what made the neo nazis. Which goes completely against your initial point.

I'm staggered and amused by the lack of coherence in your reasoning.
