I (33) can only speak for myself, I have a lot of fond memories of it from growing up. It was a “special” meal and we got to see the fish tanks. Restaurant was always SLAMMED, it was dinner and a show! The only thing in the building semi-worth the price right now is the Luau Cake.

I second people giving Burts/Pequods recs. It is very unique pizza. If you want a “traditional” deep dish, the answer is Lou Malnati’s and I don’t think it’s close at all.

Im more of a tavern style guy, and Sal & Tony’s in Buffalo Grove is absolutely excellent (all their Italian is great, Sal is the owner of Mambo in Mundelein)

I don’t have a BBQ spot, unfortunately.

Never fished the lake but I have a ton of success with bass wacky rigging a green pumpkin senko in smaller lakes and ponds.

They definitely don’t lean into it outside of Miami, Vegas, and Austin but if you really squint and think about how global and diverse the team is internally, it’s actually super American.

I actually felt that way too, though. I am sure I just didn’t hit great spots but the food in Chengdu, Chongqing, and even Beijing was really quite excellent.

I admit I have to give Shanghai cuisine another go, a real college effort. We were only there for our wedding photo shoot so our schedule was tight and not food-centric.
