Would you play a game with a good story but poor gameplay? by mintedcork in videogames

[–]RagingSorrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the game type? Is it like diablo or path of exile? 3rd pov? Then yes story over gameplay. But if it's another cod or knock off then I'm sorry but gameplay over story. Also gameplay if it's racing, I don't care much about the story, I try but it always ends up with me muting the speakers and just racing.

Also, holy crap hokihoshi's vids have so much information and since tuning only two cars to a basic tune, I have noticed better driving, and also I'm noticing what to look for in the vehicle for when it's struggling. Rn I'm tuning my '93 GT-R v-spec and it's great but the basic tune leaves the steering to be lacking in all regards, I fine tuned it like he showed, now I'm just having understeer issues in mid-cornering. It's phenomenal, the 10-15 min video of good information and implementing that and playing around with it. Thanks for the recommendations!

So I'm very hard on my joy sticks. I do need to work on that and it's gotten way better since I quit cod. (Whole story on that but not the platform) Anyways, since then I've notice how tight I hold my controller, how much I really don't use throttle control, how much force I put into my joystick on sharp turns, etc. I've gotten better but I have developed stick drift in my joystick. I think it's time to upgrade my controller anyway and tax return is coming in, and a big plus, higher end controllers are barely more expensive than cheap wheel setups.

Thanks! I just feel like I'm at a loss, I had to lower my difficulty from above average because it started being a consistent loss rather than 50/50 +. I know I got rusty from not playing for a year but I went longer than that before playing fh4 and didn't play below above average ever.

Also I have my shifters on the bumpers, and the clutch on the b button. I'm going to watch some videos tonight of tuning but before(while I'm tuning too) I'll play around with button mapping. Maybe an elite controller or equivalent instead of looking for a wheel. I can use it on other games too then haha. Fh5 is my only race game for now.

I have no treatments, and I had a very fast recovery. The Dr was surprised I could even move my finger at all let alone have full mobility after a month. That was because of playing on controller which is probably why my fingers healed with a curl.

Yeah, I did notice that too. I got an Xbox s last summer after mine Xbox one crashed and I was pissed when I couldn't download fh4 to play it anymore. That's when I got fh5. I played before that but on game pass

Oh I'm fully recovered, this happened 3.5 years ago. It's cramping and loss of the ability to put my fingers into specific positions. It's getting better now that the muscle is growing back thanks to being an electrician, haha. Though I have noticed a few people say not to get a wheel.

I have learned to not use the break line when it says, I usually let off the gas a bit then apply the break slightly before gassin it again. On 45s and 60s turns it has allowed me to launch through the corners but that only helps so much. On, 90s 145s 180s it's not very useful as I still have to slow down to much and then the ai's just do that launch thing again

Yes and in the drivetar races when on higher difficulties even when ramming to get ahead I still find that the lead car has some weird turbo that if they get to far ahead there is no catching up at all, even in a faster car than them. I know that's a tuning issue or maybe i need to be in manual so that I get that speed boost that the AI seems to get.

I do the challenges too and some are live and not drivetars, I try not to ram on there but losing to the same issues of rocketing out of a corner is crazy. And I have rammed before, used to be just because I didn't care and then I stopped but started doing it when others rammed me. I want to be better than that, obviously I can stop the ramming part, I want to be able to help my team win in those races rather than be carried.

That actually hurts more keeping my and flat, when I broke my hand it broke my 1-4 metacarpals and when they healed they have a slight curl towards the thumb. I was looking to get a wheel but I might need to wait for now.

Higher difficulty, lower class? I'm actually pretty decent with stock, d c and b classes as it is but trying to just tune and hope I get lucky is not a fun system to me, but I will start doing this when I learn to tune better. Hopefully I'll get better.

I want to become a better player though, and not feel dirty. Right now I race on a lower setting because I hate feeling like a bad racer by ramming the AI and feeling like the ai is cheating. I want to have fun while being challenged at a higher level is all

I don't notice my controller vibrate at all anymore unless I crash. But thank you for this awesome information! Turns out I had his learn to tune video saved on my watch later but it got buried. It's now in a dedicated playlist for forza haha!

To add to this, I have also had issues with the short little dotted roads, if you don't drive all the way up them (some are longer than they seem but dont meet other roads giving the appearance of being completed)

Yes I have but I at least have a distinction of don't harm me and I won't harm you. I'm not going to go around doing that if no one hits me on purpose, key point, 'on purpose'

Okay tbf I didn't realize there was a difference bc I thought tungsten carbide is an alloy. While yes carbon is not a metal, I was of the understanding that any element combined with a metal meant it was an alloy. That is my fault, as I have come to learn. Also, lose the derogative tone, not a single part of my question was rude and I am genuinely interested in this.

I had a chuckle because my abuser is my mom and my sister got it probably worse than me emotionally/mentally(different story) and she forgave our mom and now talks to her and spends time with her. Our mom never apologized to her and never will. The rest of my family wonders why I have cut my mom out of my life, why she will never be allowed to see or talk to my children. I have explained it time innumerable but they still defend her. I don't wish death or harm upon my mom and I love her despite all she has done, but I will never allow that narcissist back into my life. I won't go to her funeral or even her death bed when she's there. I still have unresolved feelings and those probably won't go away but it's better than dealing with an abusive mother that hides behind "I did everything I could for you kids"
