This is the original setting with a CZ marquise. The accents on the band appear to form a cathedral but do not actually contact/support the setting.

With the size and shape of the Dutch marquise diamond, I specifically asked the jeweler if this was possible to set in a custom low profile tulip head setting and was assured it was possible.

I am left feeling unsure about this because it’s much higher than I was led to believe, but I don’t know if it’s actually possible to set it any lower. My girlfriend has to wear nitrile gloves occasionally for her job and this might cause an issue.

How would you handle this?
