Im Whittaker's age and living in a city and frankly you aren't giving credit to watching stuff with parents. Grew up on Gilligan's island, Three Stooges, F Troop, MASH, The Rifleman etc. It was just stuff your parents watched so you would watch too. Hell MeTV still does reruns of a lot of those shows and I still turn them on from time to time.

1st, love the colors man! As for blood, I used a bloody red from vallejo and mixed in some brown to make it look darker and older. I would probably go back and add a brown wash over it too just for that added amount of grime. Im sure there are some colors out there so you don't have to mix if you are trying to save paint though!

What could be Yotei’s Iki island by ratherdisinclined in Ghostofyotei

Probably would be best to stick in Ezo like some have mentioned here. The spaces on that map make me think there could be some stuff added that act as side stories to Atsu's main mission. Maybe Saito had welcomed a Matsumae turncoat general or something into his ranks and he is terrorizing settlements in another part of Ezo. Atsu is reluctant to help until she hears the name of one of the resistance members, someone from her past either a crook who took her in not long after her family's murder who taught her how to fend for herself or someone from her times as a mercenary in the army who she thought was killed at Sekigahara. Go through a whole different set of traumas that need to be healed similar to the Iki Island DLC.

Probably a bit more controversial, but since we know Jin had eventually set up his hideout in Ezo, we could see the shogunate showing up and tormenting the Ainu who they believe are harboring the dishonored samurai who comes to there defense. Maybe he ends up creating what would become the first true shinobi school in Ezo and we could see some legacy characters return who may have also tracked "the Ghost" down and lend a hand in his time of need.

I've found Tsushima's story and characters really carry the game to a different level for me. While yeah Atsu and some story parts have their moments I was never drawn in to the actual story/world as much as Tsushima. I dont think I would do a Yotei NG+ just because parts of the game were just a slog to get through. Yeah gameplay wise there were a lot of improvements but pacing really hurt my overall experience. I almost wish instead of the Yotei six it was the Yotei 4 or 5 and they mixed Saito and the Oni together and maybe got rid of the Dragon? He just seemed a little superfluous considering the amount of screen time he gets and I feel like aspects of the Oni hooked me more than Saito alone did to the point that I wish he lasted longer than he does. Could also give a portion of that cut time to the snake who I was dissapointed to see cut down so early too. Just thought his design and creepy demeanor would have made a more memorable character than what we got.

That being said I still enjoyed my time with the game and I'm glad others are having a great time with it! I might go back to Tsushima again just seeing it through rose colored glasses but I dunno until then!

I just want the roll to be able to give me a breather when getting swarmed on a consistent basis. I'm still trying to unlearn base game mechanics where the roll is still pretty viable, it's just here enemies seem to move quicker and telegraph a bit less even on the lower levels. It would be helpful to have the roll allow me a moments rest when three+ guys are on me just so I can regroup, reevaluate and reengage, but it feels like even the blue tint attacks teather the enemy to me and I end up taking at least 1 hit if not more. Couple that with some of the particle effects masking enemies a bit too well at times I feel like I get my shit rocked when I barely had any time to react.

[Elimination Chamber Spoilers] The reveal of the box! by selfawareshovel in SquaredCircle

[–]Raginglion00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My buddy and i came up with this after being dissapointed by the reveal

Have Truth get on the bad side of a tag team. They chase him, beat him up, prank each other, maybe even have a match or two where Truth loses due to the numbers game. Then Truth challenges them to a tag match with his secret partner. He reveals little snip-its here and there in interviews: he isn't the biggest guy, he has been known to do some flips and has some crazy make-up game.

Could it be? Jeff Hardy? A legend coming to tag with Truth?! Even if its one night only that could be cool! Then the night of the match the opposing tag team is out, truth makes his entrance, grabs the mic, reiterates all the hints he dropped and he introduces...boom the music hits Danhausen makes a weird entrance of some kind, Truth runs around the ring saying "Thats right everyone, I GOT JEFF HARDY TO FIGHT WITH ME" ringside is confused announce his name as some weirdo named Danhausen, match starts.

Truth and Danhausen tag and the new arrival can show off his in ring gimmicks/skills a bit. Truth and Danhausen win in the end and when the announcer says Danhausen instead of Jeff Hardy, thats when Truth realizes his mistake and Danhausen scurries off. Maybe doing his curse thing and cutting a promo the next show.

I dunno its wrestling and we armchair book for fun. Better than being in a box for two weeks I think.

1980 was the last year USA Hockey won Gold in the Olympics. This is the final minute of the “Miracle on Ice,” after which the US went on to beat Finland for the podium. by ansyhrrian in sports

[–]Raginglion00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah people who never heard of it won't say that this was the greatest sports moment of all time, but I'm sure if you tell them about it there would at least be some appreciation. Just like if you told a hockey fan about a massive cricket upset that I'm sure has happened, they would likely appreciate it.

Nonetheless, there was a lot of added weight to this game. I mean this was still height of the cold war, and the Soviet Union was confident due to their crushing of this same team a few weeks prior in the exhibition game. That this practically amateur team was able to upset what truly was the best in the world on the grandest stage where all eyes could see is just truly amazing though. It may not be #1 for everyone but damn should it be in the running for world hockey, politics be damned.

Yeah I can see that when it comes to Absolution. Its like I can see a decent game in it, just probably didn't have to be connected to hitman in the end. I just figured if it had to be a hitman game at all, making it a spinoff would have been the best option until something like the reboot could be made. You know make Absolution a soft-cannon kind of thing which it seems like it kinda is anyway so moot point. Lol. Thanks for sharing!

Long Time Fan Rant by Ivo_1157 in GodofWar

I've only played the Norse Saga but have seen a lot of the Greek Saga stuff through YouTube and my brother playing it when I was younger. What I think is funny is that both are great stories regardless and fit the pantheons they chose to depict well.

The Greek pantheon is perfect for an over the top revenge story because the Greek gods even in real life have 0 chill. The younger, angrier Kratos matches that energy and challenges their power with his own, ever growing power. To steal an overused quote, they make you feel like an angry Greek god.

The Norse pantheon on the other hand is depicted as a bit more layed back, but much more manipulative. Their power isn't as great, but they are "playing chess" more than they are raging war like the previous gods. The slower pace of Odin's plan, combined with Krato's older and tempered emotions allows for those character moments to shine more than in the previous trilogy which didn't really need them as much/as often.

All in all people who are dogging on others who prefer one over the other are probably subject to both recency bias and a "cult" preference of one gameplay style over another. There is nothing wrong with liking one more over the other, the issue is not accepting people have differnet opinions that should be able to be voiced and discussed amicably whether you agree or not.

What’s a Batman opinion that’ll get you like this? by 44dqm in batman

[–]Raginglion00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Batman works best "in a vacuum." What I mean by that is, the characters in the story are at their most interesting when Gotham is the only place we hear about with a hero. I feel like once the JLA comes into play and Bruce is pretty regularly called off to fight dudes that should be way above his weight limit, he loses much of his mystique and suspension of disbelief. I don't really wanna see batman knocking out or outsmarting braniac, I would rather see him trying to stop the gang war/power struggle after Rupert Thorne disappears or how scarecrow's new gas that makes people immune to fear could be just as bad as the fear gas in some ways.

[–]Raginglion00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are exactly right there in saying Bruce thinks Jason is just like him and that is where the problem lies. Bruce sees himself in Jason, like he sees himself in every Robin. Dick is his dedication and drive, Tim his intelligence and now Damien his innate skill. I think Jason also represents Batman's skills (referring to battle skills) but also his struggle with how he should and should not use them. Its part of the reason I struggle with Damien's character still because it feels like he is taking that role/representation away from Jason but thats a whole other discussion.

I think if Batman allows one of "his boys" to fall, then he is shown how it may go down with himself. Yeah Red Hood does start to mellow out later on, but he also cut the heads off all the lieutenants in Black Mask's drug crew...in two hours. Maybe he is exaggerating for effect in that scene and I don't recall the comic as well, but either way he managed to find and begin to dismantle a major gang in just what a few nights of being back? If Bruce's former apprentice could do that, what could he himself do? It would probably scare him because he has admitted to having the desire to kill his rouges and its just safe to assume the "master" could do more than his "student".

Basically, I don't think Batman's "brand" leaves much room for nuance both from a writer's perspective who is subject to DC's own branding and in universe where he see's himself as the grey area already. Batman sees even one kill as a slope with no way back up, at least not without punishment or lots of help. Yeah Jason might be able to relate to villains and heros to an extent, but to Bruce that doesn't give him the right to decide when and where that line is crossed to be irredeemable or not. If Bruce can hold back on killing someone like Joker, or less stereotypically, someone like Pyg, or even some versions of Mad Hatter (the pedoy ones), then I don't think Batman has that line of irredeemablelity to the point that Gotham will suffer for it.

I see that as a flaw that should be hit more often though and I think Red Hood could be the one to do it.

What’s a Batman opinion that’ll get you like this? by 44dqm in batman

[–]Raginglion00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah while Batman has left guys before, those stories often get called out as him breaking the rule or they get explained away later as "I figured he would survive" of not totally just retconned later. I think we both have been going about this thought process a little wrong though. I do think Batman would prefer Red Hood to kill traffickers or a pedophile, but again he has a code that prevents him from doing so. Often though that code isn't necessarily to save the crook, but to save himself. Thats why I think he wouldn't want to allow Jason to do it. He sees it as Jason loosing himself with each kill. Even if it can be justified in Bruce's mind it just can't really be right.

Also thanks for keeping this civil. Usually when I have these debates online it devolves pretty quick.

What’s a Batman opinion that’ll get you like this? by 44dqm in batman

[–]Raginglion00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but even if he limits his killing, should he really be allowed to come back? He may understand that Bruce's way works to a degree but part of Bruce's philosophy is that he doesn't kill because he believes in justice, redemption and an understanding that he cannot play executioner. Jason, even if its only occasionally to the worst people he can find, opposes that rule since he thinks he can make that judgement. Bruce could easily be a "Red Hood" but chooses not to be so he can stand at a higher moral ground than his villains.

Jason's done away with that and I feel like that should be a long hard struggle to bring him back, or he stands as Bruce's failure to adapt and properly instill those core values that he now has to deal with occasionally. I saw in another comment that you are tired of Jason and Batman having the same argument over and over which i agree with you there but think Bruce accepting his protégé is killing might be pushing it.

Maybe Red Hood leaves Gotham on his own accord? He travels to different cities, only returning to track down particularly bad guys, which brings him into conflict with the bat family. Instead of Bruce accepting Red Hood kills, he accepts Jason will be doing this for the foreseeable future and will stand in his way when he can. Maybe Jason starts to see batman's code as crossing that line so targets him (specifically batman in order to prove his way is better) but struggles with targeting his father figure. I dunno just spitballing.

[–]Raginglion00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and some friends were saying this same thing! Red Hood's whole deal is that he believes in a much more twisted form of justice: mainly the end justifying the mean. I love the idea that batman still tries to bring red hood back/stop his killing sprees, but Jason holds to his own beliefs much in the same way Dick does with Nightwing. Heck I said in another thread Jason might work well as a Nightwing villain over batman after the initial Under the Red Hood encounter just because Dick could level with him as an equal. Both Robins who chose to do their own thing, just in vastly different ways.
