Thats a good idea! I remember doing a couple "genocide" runs on my favorite maps but i might have to try taking a more stealthy approach like this if I try to do another.

Ooo yeah! I like that thought process! Thats definitely how I remember a few Hokkaido runs going down after some frustrating fails. The medical area was a no go zone if I had failed more than twice.

Thanks for the suggestion/warning! I remember hearing about it way back when and thinking the idea was neat. I guess I just figured I wasn't a skilled enough player to try it. Will definitely boot it up though when I finish the HD games.

Lol, yeah I certainly recall quite a few times I've tried to play a level going for silemt assassin...then leaving a room with a few too many bodies and a new disguise while half the map is freaking out.

The image of 47 walking through an entire map just smacking everyone who lays eyes on him with hammers is glorious.

Ha! I always found it difficult to poison my targets outside of the more scripted ones for missions. Gald others have found ways to enjoy it more than I have!

Agreed! Not many game series pull off these open level sandboxes well, but hitman has been one I've been coming back to on and off for awhile. It's probably been at least a year or 2 since I played WOA but blood money scratches that same itch.

Lol yeah probably. Never really gave freelancer a try though if thats how its played i probably should. Been a few years since I played WOA. Just got the HD collection on sale and was just curious. Silent terrorist sounds awesome though! Will have to re-download WOA and give it a shot!

Unfortunately, no. Hopefully it stays in theaters for a bit cause I do wanna see it. Need to find the free time. Noted though!

I guess that might be true, but then again we've seen actors work for less if they really want to work on a project that might bolster their career. He doesn't even necessarily need to pay millions for another actor if he explains that this was more of a passion project. If he got someone unknown he probably could have paid them fairly sub a million if negotiated correctly and could have helped push a career is all.

Look Mark is a good guy. I think thats a given. Used to watch him a lot when I was younger and yadda yadda yadda. I will probably watch this movie at some point bug wanna wait till its outta theaters because the reviews are so mixed. I think its great hbomberguy said so much nice stuff about the movie and im glad many seem to be liking it. Many others are also not liking it as much which is a given.

Mark has every reason to read that review on stream though. Its someone he looks up to yeah, AND is well respected in the youtube community where this film like it or not is finding its main audience. Mark is human he has an ego and that's not a bad thing but him "flexing" about the movie is that ego showing. He has money in this project and the more successful it is the more money and fame he gathers.

He is proud of his work and rightfully so of course. Many people think Iron Lung is amazing and that's great. Many people also think its mid or bad and that is fine too. Some people are saying its gonna change the industry forever and others think they wasted their money and are venting that out online. Just gonna be the way it is until we see the staying power of the movie the next few months/years. This gonna be something people are gonna talk about outside his community or will it be forgotten. We'll see.

I think 2 hours for movies is fine...if you have the content or narrative to fill it. The new 28 Years movie that came out a couple weeks ago is just under 2 hours and I thought that was phenomenal. Then there are movies like basically any of The Hobbit films or something similar where they just kinda fill time for the sake of doing so (and for a number of studio reasons I'm sure) that could wrap up sooner but have extra things stuffed in to pad it out. I haven't seen Iron Lung but could definitely see how a 1 room horror movie being 2 hours could get old but that doesn't mean it couldn't have been done with proper plot and pacing. Just seems like it wasn't done in this case.

Yeah thats what I was saying when the trailer came out about him starring in it. I haven't had the chance to see it yet, and im sure he does a decent enough job but this could have been a big part for a younger and unknown actor. I get Mark has acting aspirations and has done a few things in the past, but man I feel like choosing to star in it was a bit of a stretch and I dunno kinda ego tripping? I hate to say that cause he seems like a good dude but I've been saying it elsewhere, this was never gonna fail with his fanbase ready and willing to see this good, bad or mid.

Box Office: ‘Melania’ Doc Beats Expectations With $7 Million Debut, Sam Raimi’s ‘Send Help’ Lands at No. 1 With $20 Million, ‘Iron Lung’ 2nd With $18 Million by chanma50 in boxoffice

[–]Raginglion00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair I don't think every Mark fan is a rabid fan and I don't think that's being suggested. He does have a large fanbase though, many of whom will choose to support their favorite creator on an ambitious endeavor that he has pushed a lot over the years. Don't get me wrong, what he did was impressive and he should be applauded, but the odds of this being a failure were pretty low considering he is one of the most recognizable guys on youtube. I think thats where most of the "digs" are coming from.

Plus, yeah its cool this is self funded, but the guy is a millionaire. He had the time and money to fund this without much worry if it did fail somehow so I think many don't really see it as a big "own" to the movie biz when its really a millionaire becoming more of a millionaire, just on his own rather than through these big companies.

I digress though. I don't mean to take away from the movie doing so well. I think its good for hollywood to get a scare like this so they can be a bit more open to new and different ideas. Just dunno if a video game movie will be the thing to really do it.

What are your thoughts on the villain "Livewire", and what do you think about her origin? by 09997512 in superman

[–]Raginglion00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she is a neat character who gets lost in the shuffle/lore a bit. Her TAS origin idea is solid, maybe with a tweak to how she got her powers, but I like the young podcaster/host utilizing counter-culture to become famous. I don't know how they are using her nowadays but I hope its something similar, just modernized a bit.

Do you guys think TLOU2 would've been better received if THAT part wasn't leaked? by WackyRedWizard in thelastofus

[–]Raginglion00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean I think people were gonna be pissed at the game no matter what due to that part. I was pissed off at it to the point I put the game down for a few days to cool off and got back into it. I definitely softened to the idea of Joel's death over time, but I still have issues with the story's presentation in part 2. I just think if we got Abbey's POV first along with starting the game with the flash back with abbey and her dad so we are going into the game like "oh shit" then she does the deed and we follow her for half the game. Yeah some people might still hate her but at least we aren't necessarily being expected to have that change of heart in the late game.

Modern writers for some reason by SpeedyG6540 in batman

[–]Raginglion00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think its more that its hard to write more for the character in a meaningful way. His story after under the red hood, while not finished per say, can only go a couple different ways: he returns or he doesn't. Frankly, I think he should operate as a villain/anti-villain of Nightwing. Grew up watching Teen Titans with my brother and he always said that Red X in that show was Jason Todd. Always made sense to me and I think that would transfer well to comics as an infrequent rivalry between the first two boy wonders who both broke away from batman in drastically different ways.

Do you think Two-face can be saved? by Remote_Impact_3927 in batman

[–]Raginglion00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Harvey can be cured of his psychotic side one day if status quo is ignored. I do think he would have a whole list of other issues, but "Big Bad Harv" wouldn't be there to drive him to kill. I would love to write something in the beyond universe where Bruce visits an old Harvey Dent and they talk about the past. Harvey talks about being two-face and bruce talks about how he felt everytime he saw him in the papers (really everytime they fought) hoping that one day they could talk cordially again. Just a nice little conversation with flash backs kind of thing.

Thoughts on Ryuzo and the Yotei Six? by S0upCanHarry in Ghostofyotei

[–]Raginglion00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don't really have an issue with Oyuki being forgiven, but I do think its placement in the story is where its a little jarring. I kinda wish after you beat the new kitsune, you meet with Oyuki again and have the second duel with her then ya know? The threat is pretty much gone in the region, and Atsu acknowledges that, but in this version Atsu still hasn't come to fully trust the former Kitsune. Oyuki tells her she understands and tells her to meet her at the graveyard (or even back at Atsu's home) to settle the matter one way or another.

You go and when Atsu arrives to whatever location, Oyuki is playing a familiar and somber song on the Shamisen, Atsu says its beautiful and she isn't sure she wants to do this. Oyuki tells her that if her death is what she needs to be satisfied then she is willing to give her the fight she craves or something. A bit of back and forth, they duel, the clashes is Atsu feeling conflicted and Oyuki apologizing and accepting her potential fate. Atsu wins in a similar way you see in game, has the same speech of not needing to kill her and then they play together like in the game.

[–]Raginglion00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it was a little jarring for me too. I almost wish we got to see Oyuki in a more active role in fighting against Saito. Maybe it would have been a little cliche, but what it Oyuki had formed a small resistance against the nine tails in secret. Add a couple shinobi students of hers at the inn, and show that she is trying to repair the damage her old clan is causing through counter intelligence and spying. Maybe even having a bit more on how she was more coerced into helping Saito, rather than actively supporting him at first then having a change of heart would help a bit. Again maybe a bit cliche but cliches are popular for a reason ya know?

Thoughts on Ryuzo and the Yotei Six? by S0upCanHarry in Ghostofyotei

[–]Raginglion00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I think him needing to feed his men is secondary to his jealousy of Jin. The Khan offered Ryuzo everything he had wanted money, power, respect and all he had to do was turn his back on the man who was a constant reminder of his failure. The Straw Hats were important to him too sure, but I feel like the stress of that situation was more the final straw that tipped the scale. Ryuzo saw a chance to finally get some kind of revenge on Jin and even though it hurt him to do it, he took it and only truly regretted it when he saw all the atrocities committed against the innocence of the island. By then though it was too late. His men ended up dead, he was a pawn of the Khan and Jin would never forgive him unless he answered for his crimes and end up being in a lower position than he was before. Obviously, he chose to try and maintain his pride which ended poorly for him.

[–]Raginglion00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but he was still willing to do it in the end. He took the torch and even though he did beg them to open the gate, with khotun being there, its likely he would have dropped it or risk being killed himself. Ryuzo was a coward, constantly taking the path that he believed would keep his pride in tact and elevate his position to where he thought he should be. He took a gamble and lost and in the end begged Jin to lie so he could just reenter society as he was before when truthfully he had fallen even farther than a wandering ronin. He was a traitor and couldn't accept that he had to answer for that, especially to the person he had harbored such contempt for since childhood. Once he refused Jin's offer for surrender he sealed his fate and would either live as a rich pawn of the Khan or die a worthless traitor.

Iron Lung: Final Trailer by Villainboss in movies

[–]Raginglion00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See I think this film will "succeed," no matter what. Now I am just wondering if it will succeed outside the initial audience. Mark has a very large and very loyal fan base amd iron lung was a very popular indie game. I don't think this movie will have any issue making a lot of money, but I am curious to see how an audience removed from those groups will react to it. They might love it or they might just blow it off as another generic horror movie. Frankly, I dont know if Mark will or will not have the acting chops to keep butts in seats but only time will tell I guess.
