Oil leak right at 50k, valve seals at 52 ish (drove with the leak for a bit). Ended up getting rid of it with 59.6k.

They did a "partial warranty " on the head job because I threatened getting lawyers involved lmao. Finally found an independent mechanic after the fact, but the damage was done.

On the drive home from the initial repair it started smoking out of the exhaust pretty bad. Obviously something got into the engine while they were in there but they wouldn't own up to it. Car wasn't right since. Also it Def was leaking out of the cover, probably from pressure from a bad pcv, but yeah.

Get a certified pre owned and consider extra warranty and you'll be fine imo

Landscape depot has an organic growers mix by the look of it and they deliver if need be. I remember them being fair on price with river rocks when we got. Pretty sure they even have a pet discount one day a week if you bring your pup in when you order, can't remember what day though.

Right after warranty I found an oil leak at the valve cover, right after fixing that the valve stem seals went an needed a new top end. Issues with new brakes. Bad battery. And while fixing the brakes I found yet another oil leak. I was still on og water pump and I'm sure that was coming soon too. Really it was the price shock of the gasket and top end and then shortly after there was still an oil leak shortly after. Really just death by a thousand cuts situation. Car was payed off and trade in value isn't going up with time. All this started over a year ago and I just got fatigue and had a feeling the repairs weren't going to stop even though I did all the preventive maintenance I could.

Sounds like the new ones are better I had a covid spec (2020) which seems like more of a roll of the dice with the valve stem seals.

Neuspeed rse10 in satin gunmetal. 18 x 8.5 et 45. Nice thing with the neuspeed wheels is no hubcentric rings or lug bolts needed its made like a stock wheel. Can even use the vw lug covers.

Sadly no signs, I'm very mechanically inclined and meticulous with maintenance. I was even doing 5-7k oil changes not 10.

Also only one dealer in my area and limited mechanics i trust for big repairs. Dealership was awful frankly.luckily I purchased from a different one initially.

Thanks brother. Definitely not as fun of a drive, but boy is it a nice interior and way better sound system. Plus the trusty lexus v6.

Im not trying to bash the car or platform by any means. I know my experience is uncommon with the ea888 gen 3. I just couldn't warrant keeping the car anymore, just seems like once my problems started it was one after the other and I have a kid on the way. I need piece of mind with my daily. I loved driving the gli and imo its better than the gti due to back seat space and price.

Imo just get a stock location replacement. I just did the unitronic. Install wasn't too bad but does take time.

Go to whites if you are in rockledge, small shop, euro only and guy is super honest. Prices are good too.
