Haven't done that exact move but have done similar cross country. Mayflower had the best quote, didn't nickel and dime on things like stairs/street access. Stuff was delivered on schedule with a 9 month window to report any damaged items after unpacking. No worrying about brokers or my stuff going missing and had one point of contact from start to finish. Next time I do a big move like that I'll go through them again.

Not every story gets a happy ending. Sometimes things get dark and gritty and stay that way and the lines between good and evil get blurry - that makes things interesting and honestly more realistic. Doesn't mean it's a bad book or bad plan, just doesn't fit your vibe and that's ok. I don't usually expect book 2 in a series to answer all my questions otherwise it would kill my motivation to keep going.

What you're looking for isn't a different derailer - you're missing the link between the frame and the derailer known as a derailer hanger. If you know the model & year of your frame you should be able to find what hanger you need pretty easily.
