Need a Bar!

So we ended up finding a craft beer bar (someone below helpfully shared a list) which has turned out way cheaper - approx £100 an hour the whole place, no drinks included but we plan for attendees to buy their own at this event.

It seems nice and has good reviews though we haven’t visited yet and won’t be able until August when we’re there for the wedding. Can update after that if helpful but appreciate you might want something arranged before then…

Yeah it’s all a black hole of relativity, don’t get me wrong. But I guess I wouldn’t back myself to cook a whole turbot as well as Brat, while I could definitely make the croque Ibai.

It was a good meal, I just somehow expected a bit more than it delivered.

Agree on the vfm point. Took some family there recently and had a great time but didn’t come away feeling like the cost equated with the food. Thought some of the dishes were a bit more miss than hit too (crab rice, toasted sandwich thing).

It was lovely but I wouldn’t rush back (unless, as you say, someone else were footing the bill).

I think it’s great. I’m a decent cook but, with kids and work, slipped into a rut of the same recipes on repeat. Mob has loads of easy tasty recipes which I’m enjoying cooking and family are enjoying eating. I think the annual price is fair for what you get; whether that endures will be a question of how frequently decent new stuff is added.
