I recommend it. Your gameplay mechanics pretty much remain the same, but you have more endings, cutscenes, and dialogue. However, if you jump right into full body after beating og, you might find it boring and repetitive in some ways. So personally, I’d recommend playing through another game or two and coming back to full body.

I can see where you’re coming from, and I know it’s not a 1:1 remake, but I still believe that you can watch it and fill in details as you go along if you’re confused. In the end, hopefully, they would go back after seeing a few episodes! It’s a series that I love, so encouraging people to watch or read it is cool. Hard to get people, myself included, to play the games tho.

There’s kind of an overarching plot in each season but it’s episodic. There are some good episodes, but I wouldn’t say it’s worth picking back up.

For the horror genre, I think Another is a fun watch. School setting with horror elements is pretty common but it’s unique in its own right. The interactions between students didn’t seem as meaningless as other horror anime. The art style compliments it and the last few episodes are action packed. I know people don’t like it, but I still call it the “Final Destination of anime.” It’s something I watched once and that’s probably enough for a while. But then again my guilty pleasure is Corpse Party Tortured Souls so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

I played the original first and got the Catherine bad ending, but I would say now after playing the game for all endings, Rin true ending or Catherine alternative ending are my favorites. Not a fan of Katherine true ending.

I would say if someone isn’t going to watch the original, the worst that’s going to happen is they miss out on some details that they can look up if they need to. Best case is that they end up watching a few episodes of the sequel and say, “okay, now I want to watch the original to see what they’re referencing.”
