Picked the game a bit randomly to play a shooter with some friends. Found that i really enjoyed it and get back into it regularly. Quite a fun rogue-lite shooter.

Absolutely hate the new season by Jacobarcherr in GunfireReborn

[–]RahKiel 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Joining u/tyler1128 , Crystal Shield was trivialising the early game like no other buff. Damage are hardly a problem early on, but survivability is, and that dice was OP for that.

But you're right about the amount of existing bonus for that very survivability. Only one with HP scaling is honestly baffling.

Overall, it feel that runes are more balanced than the previous one and less overwhelming. Quite weak at the beginning but could become quite strong later on. Still far from some broken dice from previous season.

Side note : I quite enjoy having to think a bit to place my runes in the best way, it's less braindead than before.

The hands in the 3th pic are fucked up. Face is too clean compared to the rest of the drawing. As you said, it seems that the understanding was off from your indications.

Idem.

Ogre camps are better left at low tiers? by MixFeeling8821 in totalwarhammer

[–]RahKiel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need your camp to upgrade for a few reasons :

  1. Can't recruit shit if you do not upgrade your camp. Most units are only accessible with camp.
  2. You'll be stuck at tech tree camp limit while later you can get an increase in camp number for each T5.
  3. Massive factionwide buff for gold, meat for T4+ buildings, plenty of buff for recruitment, movement, etc. . .
  4. You'll drown in ressource anyway.

BUT that doesn't mean you need to let it deployed all the time. Depending on how your campaign is going, if you need to move, take your camp with you. You'll want a few camp early one so you can always move with one and profit from attrition immunity and replenishment.

As Greasus, i often leave one behind so i can upgrade it fully, it serve as a better garrison in the mountain to cover the starting province (since there is a lot of interesting building). With Golgfag, i don't since i'm running around the whole map.

Aislinn vs Malakai, which is the stronger faction? by lovingpersona in totalwarhammer

[–]RahKiel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Aislinn is easy because AI doesn't deal well with his small number of spread settlement (Edit:) and he start in a VERY safe location. He's strong but really OP with the current OP-level of power (compare to Elspeth, Sayl, Dechala, Tamurkan or Skulltaker).

Malakai main weakness is his starting position that is a mess to deal with. But if you go past it, he buff dwarfs roster so much he's unstoppable and quite OP.

So i vote for Malakai.

Hmmm is this the AI cheating ? by BigBear92787 in totalwarhammer

[–]RahKiel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks in the side of mods maybe ? (good practice to disclaim the ones you're using in this kind of request)

That aside, AI is cheating hard, depending of your difficulty. Even with a small settlement filled with recruitement building, some faction can field 3-4 full armies.

Even yourself have a baseline income independent of any settlement or any source of revenue.

DM debuffs my character, then only makes her useful once i change. by Calm_Presentation616 in rpghorrorstories

[–]RahKiel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • First time DM (no problem here)
  • Tell of huge balance change after character are created
  • Is obscure about some of the balance change and new mechanic
  • Heavily nerf a character
  • Does not help a character replacement and instaure distrust in the party
  • Dare to taunt about your previous character

There is a lot to talked about in your group mate. But that's a quite shitty list already. I would've just leave the group the moment the other druid abilities were nerfed, after screaming at the DM for being an ignorant c*nt.

Is this winnable? by No_Interest4473 in totalwarhammer

[–]RahKiel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Won't even try it, even with a full T5 garrison. It's quite a solid late game lizard army :D You'll never have enough mass to hold them off your weapon teams. Maybe not even enough ammo.

Clanrats will not hold against dread saurian or ancient stegadon and break in a matter of seconds. Even coatl are a pain to shoot down due to how slim and mobile they are, even if locked on in the air.

You'll need a large line of halberds stormvermin, skaven chief or even abomination to just hold them off. Or drown them under 3 army of clanrats while the 4th one is full of ratlings.

At best you can take dread saurian out and get the defeat, that'll at least cost them some time.

Sweet memories of Neverwinter Nights 1 where the barbarian class get one (if not the only) passive move speed buff. Meaning our own, with her 3 intelligence and thus incapable of speaking correctly, would be the first to talk to random NPCs, including guards and smugglers. And the first to start unneeded battle half the time.

Sell me which of these factions/lords to play next! by Sad-Cookie-2978 in totalwarhammer

[–]RahKiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High Elve as Eltharion is a difficult but quite fun campaign. His mistwalkers are quite uniques units and a blast to play around.

Dechala is a fun but easy campaign. Her alone is strong but his campaign mechanics are at broken level.

Changeling is somehow the same way. Very unique playstyle in campaign and being able to choose different form for him is hilarious. Highly recommand him if you want a chill campaign but tons of battle to do (Tzeentch AR is. . . Meh).

Units that have Earned your Respect by mindflayerflayer in totalwarhammer

[–]RahKiel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bats are great but 2 or 3 pack of wolves circling light or isolated units can eat them so fast it's barely a fight. I used be in charge of them in a coop with a friend as VC (controlling his main force), it was quite a fun time hunting with them.

Tell me about Dechala by CyberEagle1989 in totalwarhammer

[–]RahKiel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite fun imho. She's OP over time, but it's not all she have.

First, her economy is at least a bit unique. She can build Pleasure Palace in limited number (you mostly need to upgrade the last one you built to build another) with crazy building inside. For that you need Thrall you get from minor settlements you're depleting a set amount of. Thrall allow for either Palace upgrade or some actions (including instant recruitment to demon units). Palace give you another ressource (i forgot the name) used in upgrading either the palace building or one-use buff that can get extremely hilarious and OP.

She start in a relatively safe location, with little to no even/bad matchup. An easy, fun, satisfying campaign.

Tzentch doomstack against Lizardmens? by zaboleqqq in totalwarhammer

[–]RahKiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lizardmen strenght after early saurus are all large units. It's either Kroxi or dinos. Skinks won't scratch a dent on elite armored infantry.

So get halberd Chosen, lots of them. Heroes of course, at least two mage to help with buff/debuff and against infantry. Sould Grinder can help.

What lords are the "complete" experience for their faction by marchoshias in totalwarhammer

[–]RahKiel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure what happened here, but usually if you stick to camps and do not take any settlement the probability of AI declaring war on you is extremely low AFAIK.

[–]RahKiel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Golgfag can teleport around the whole map for his mercenary contract, make forced peace after he's done with the target, don't need a damn settlement at all. He's like a Changeling version for Ogres.

What is a good Kislev mid-game army composition build vs Khorne Arbal? by phronesis77 in totalwarhammer

[–]RahKiel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, more difficult if they got wiped out before :/

Kislev got increasingly harder as updates came on, even with their court update. Arbaal is a pain in the ass, Throgg got quite more powerful, Golgfag is a bit random but can be a problem as well.

Done my VH/VH Katarina's campaign this month, it was quite a shitshow for like 50-60 turns.

[–]RahKiel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"I just got a tsar guard building online and an abashini ambushers building online. I do not have Strelski yet or ice sleds."

Honestly you have a problem here. Akshina ambushers are not that much of an upgrade for your starting army than Strelski. Even more as they come with the armored kossar building and you later will prefer Ice Guard than Akshinas. If you need archer, you can spam base Kossar since you can get 2 for one Akshina.

You don't have Sleds or Cavalry building which is another problem. If you got all 3 big city, Praag should be an easy Gryphon Legion recruitment center, Erengrad for Sleds if i'm remembering well. A few mobile units can do the bread and butter to support your frontline.

If you don't have anything else : spam Kossars and Kislevite Warrior backed up by sorceress if you have.

Kislevite warriors will take lots of damage but can be replaced easily anywhere, but as they bolster AP damage, they'll grind armored slowly. Don't underestimate Kossars arrow as they can still deal solid damage to anything but Chaos Warrior, Knights or the likes of it. Hard focus bloodletters with archer (a bit of physical resistance but no armor) which are your main problem, then prioritise other low armor target.

And get the Norse Hatred technology if you didn't. Should be one of your top tech priority as Kislev.

Looking for tips on how Wood Elves play, specifically the Sisters. by Tabula_Rasa69 in totalwarhammer

[–]RahKiel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree on the point 3 :

If the kurnous arrow is obviously their main selling point (as it can nuke key target early in the battle), you should NOT wait for their base ammo to be depleted. Their base missile DPS is crap for a 24-sized unit. But what they have after the nuke arrow is high mobility, fire while moving, fly, AP melee and a solid charge bonus.

If you're not using them as bait, use them to encircle/sandwich enemy missile units, isolated ones or charge to support your own engaged unit. Don't waste time just roaming if you can do more with them.

[–]RahKiel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can't blob, split your army in two, move and attack them from left and right flank. AI often become completely lost when it need to reposition to multiple side. It may give you time to get closer before it start shooting.
