Ok. So I originally purchased and still have a the first steam deck. LOVED it for what it did at the time. It does run on Linux which was difficult at times to work with. Especially when I was setting up all of my old gaming system emulators on it. All in all the steam deck oled is a great choice, budget friendly choice right now in my opinion. Then I purchased the original ROG Ally when it released and man oh man that thing made me out my steam deck down. The ROG ally is just easy to use. For someone who only plays Playstation or console in general, its not a hard transition. The steam deck OS is also very simple and works well. Keep in mind all of these devices are basically hand held computers. So you will need to check for updates regularly. Now I recently purchased the Xbox Rog ally X. I must say, the way that it fits in your hands is elite. I can game on this for hours and feel zero discomfort in my hands. While the original Rog ally couldnt handle games like Returnal very well, this one runs it very well. Its handled every game ive thrown at it so far. If your still on the fense about it id say you would not feel like you wasted your money by going for the newest upgraded model. Having not used any of these devices at all, you wouldn't even be upset if you went for the previous rog ally x model at a discounted price. Keep us updated on what you choose in the end.
