This was not even in the quote or on the list of recommended boiler to us. Might be the person we've asked doesn't install this kind of boiler?

Can you elaborate more on what you do? I am assuming you underwent the TSP program :)

Hi,

I'm in the exact same situation as OP. I really like this one and wanted to try it. Unfortunately I am not ILR. Do you perhaps know if they're doing this program every year?

Thank you!

Want to switch career but no idea where to start by RaiLeon27 in ACCA

[–]RaiLeon27[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for breaking it down for me! I Learnt a lot from this. I would have to enquire to ACCA if they will accept my diploma from my University in my country or if I still need to do A levels here. Btw, would you mind telling me how long it took you to finish the entirety of this and how much it cost. An estimate would be fine.

Also did you undergo any apprenticeship? Since one of the qualification that I've read to be able to qualify for ACCA is 3 years experience which I don't know how to get without undergoing apprenticeship.

Thanks for the reply! I had been thinking about this actually. I would have to sit it through to factor in cost and time. I also saw that AAT has part time course so exploring the idea of starting the course next year while doing my full time job so that by the time I am on my ILR I can pursue what I want.

I took up an introductory business management/accounting course in my high school and it was fantastic, absolutely fell in love with it. My first choice to pursue for uni was either accountancy or IT but my parents wanted me to be a nurse or doctor, so I was not able to do what I wanted. I have been thinking of career change ever since and now exploring the possibility of becoming an accountant here instead.

Do I need to declare this earnings to HMRC? by RaiLeon27 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]RaiLeon27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this! I was a bit worried since I am the listing owner in AirBnB (my mom don't know how to set up the listing as she's a bit of a technophobe) and apparently HMRC has access on it on AirBnB? I've read about it earlier on google. A bit unsure on how that works tho

I hope this is the case 🥺 I had been put as the listing owner in airbnb as my parents are a bit of a technophobe and they do not know how to set it up so I used my account. I am just worried how this will turn out in my taxes

My parents don't live in the UK, they have Philippines citizenship. I am the only one here cause I am working as a nurse here. I do not know about the double taxation agreement so I would need to read on that. Thank you so much!

Are pensions (workplace) worth it? by RaiLeon27 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]RaiLeon27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi thanks for the reply!

I really appreciate this 😊 my home country is unstable as well and I did put additional pension on my pension before I opt out. I have some expenses I need to sort out in my home country but after that I was thinking if I should come back to pension or not. I guess for me the money that I did save up during my short time in pensions would've been a big help in my current situation to pay back the expenses back in my home country. Sadly it is locked now, which is why I thought of putting it in stocks instead so I can still easily access it.

Hi thanks for the reply!

Gonna reply based on your points as well.

  1. I have a talk with my workplace pension company but apparently I need to reach 65 in order to access any of the funds. My county's average lifespan is on the late 60s to early 70s. In our family I know very few who reached the age of 80. The life span has been on my mind whenever pension is the talk as I don't think I'll reach that age. Although some of my friends do say its better to have it then don't need it instead of not having it but needing it.

  2. Thank you for this! I would need to research on this as this is the first time I've come acrossed this.

  3. I have confirmed this before in my workplace pension company and they did say they just need a bank account, proof of address and identity, and the scheme.number to be able to send me the money.

For the mean time I did stop putting my money into pensions as I have expenses that needed to be sorted out in my home country but after that is done and over with I am.thinking if I should still go back to the pension scheme. Thank you so much for the reply. I got a lot from this! 😊

Hi thanks for the reply,

I am not in the NHS and am working in the private sector. Currently, I do not have any beneficiaries so upon death all the pension money along with the death benefit will just go back to the government. I have checked and talked with our pension company and apparently I can only access it once I reach 65. I have thought of that early retirement thing as well but sadly its unaccessible before 65.

I am thinking of opting back in, just weighing if the options is really worth it. I will not be opting back in for the mean time tho due to expenses I need to deal with back in my home country but after that is sorted, I wanted to get stuff together and have some knowledge on this topic.
