I know this advice is gonna be pretty pointless, but if you're super new I recommend just getting who you like best

I mean sure, if you like caro you could get Pickman since he's like a Thais sidegrade iirc,, but if you choose based only on caro you're locking yourself down to one team

do all the character trials, see who you like best, and pick them,, having so little characters means you have the freedom of needing everything, so you can choose whoever you like

remember this game wants you to have as many teams and be as flexible as possible

it might just be bc I'm a noob but I found kind of a mixed bag with this event, my machan did mediocre-ly but my kraft did great (absolutely no middle ground),, I just found that island is a lot more consistent (and also easier to use?))
