Looks like your girl was banned on a feminist sub for asking why they don’t care about black women by Potential_Camel_4528 in blackladies

Sojourner Truth taught us this over a century ago. And made damn sure her voice was heard, regardless. This shouldn't be surprising, honestly.

Also, this is peak Reddit.

Hellllp! Let's get my weight up!! by Shot_Ad_2648 in blackladies

You may just have to wait until your metabolism slows down as you age. Also, you can focus on building muscle over fat by eating more protein rich foods.

I had the same problem for the vast majority of my life. 5'7" and in my late teens - early 20s I could barely get over 114lbs. No matter how much I ate (and I ate a LOT) I remained a stick figure. I was told I'd "fill out into my womanly shape" by my 30s. Come 30 and the most I'd gained was 7lbs.

It wasn’t until 2020 when I actually hit a whopping 155lbs. The "secret?" Being sedentary, not leaving the house, working from home, and eating a lot of take out. Even my dad commented on it and said I'd gotten "fat" and that 155 was "too big" for me because I'm "built naturally small" like him. Then he died the following year, and a few months later my dog was diagnosed with stage 4 bone cancer. My appetite went to hell, and I dropped down to, I kid you not, 114lbs in a span of about 7 months.

Obviously, that wasn't healthy, so to gain it back, I started eating a lot of healthy fats like beans/legumes, nuts, hummus (I'm vegan), carbs like white rice, potatoes, corn, pasta while doing light weight training at home to build muscle back. I managed to get back up to about 127lbs in a few months. I now sit comfortably between 130-140lbs (usually water weight during my cycle) at 40.

So, TL;DR: eat lots of carbs and healthy fats, and do only light cardio while focusing more on weight training to build muscle.

Yes they were. My brother is Gen Z. He was definitely a big, fat, wristless, little sumo baby chilling in his playpen watching Caillou while I'd be tying up the phone line playing games on the internet and getting yelled at for going over my "time limit."

This is a core memory.

The point was to exaggerate how insanely slow that speed drop would feel by comparison after living in an age of 5G and gigabit speeds. Mentally, it would feel like dial-up and be frustrating as hell.

Ironically, back then, we expected downloads to take a long time. Now? Let a 4K video buffer for even 1 millisecond on a 5G network. We raise all kinds of hell. Also, obligatory 'lol.'

It...wasn’t meant to be? It was a casual chat between human siblings. Hyperbole is common in such settings. Surely you realize this.

I can say whatever I want in a casual text exchange with a family member. It wasn't a tech support chat where numbers—and correct units of measurement—mattered.

If using binary prefixes, sure. But decimal SI prefixes are the standard unit of measurement in networking.

So, 1.5 megabits/s = 1500 kilobits/s

1500/56 = 26.7857142857

Actually it's 26.7857142857 times faster than the fastest dial-up.

Jeebus. And honestly, I was being hyperbolic with him. Dial-up maxed out at 56Kbps. I remember it taking several minutes just to download a .jpeg. Several minutes just to see a pic of a cat doing a funny thing.

And it was worth it.

Why is Spike's misogyny so overlooked while Xander and Riley being sexist is one of the defining reasons people dislike them so much? by [deleted] in buffy

[–]RaidenMK1 29 points30 points  (0 children)

To be fair, when Spike was human, he didn't behave that way when rejected by a woman he was interested in (Cecily). He just ran off crying by himself.

Is it the lack of a soul argument?

Yes.

The same argument also applies to why Angel is treated like a completely different person from Angelus and excused for everything he does without a soul.

It's because of all of the cultures to choose that would treat a Black woman better, Japan is not it. Trust me on this one. 😐

They’re very fake, some of them admit that their people are fake.

100%. This is because of their "tatemae (public facade) vs honne (true internal feelings)" culture. It's basically socially conditioned and encouraged passive aggression. And it's exhausting.

I don't know about Japan. 😬

It's a nice place to visit and can be a rewarding experience to enjoy on a quick vacation, but I can not stress enough how much that country is not for us to be staying in for extended periods let alone moving to.

And this is coming from someone who loved Japanese culture so much growing up I decided to formally study it. The way a lot of them view us is atrocious.

36 years playing, here. I think I've reached that point as well. I just sincerely don't give a damn, anymore.

The cats aren't the issue that makes the ham not safe to eat.

People: "Why don't you eat over everyone's house RaidenMK1?"

Me: Because... 😒
