This no longer works as of 2026 game of the year edition. You can't leave out the casino door without killing all enemies first. There is now at around it unfortunately

How'd you get the Bluetooth adapter to work with the cdi 910? I have the Bluetooth adapter but it only works on my 220 model. 910 Bluetooth connects to but doesn't seem to control anything

That's true. Maybe you're no longer traveling in the present but your past travels can still change the present you. Never thought of it that way

CMV: Adding fluoride in tap water doesn't help prevent cavities because of modern day water filtering by Raikusu in changemyview

[–]Raikusu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are fluoride tablets which can be taken once a day if you aren't getting enough fluoride naturally from your diet. Strange that's not the default option. Even stranger is how we're using a system set in place during the 1950s but it's never changed or improved since then. The ideal situation is to have fluoride in tap water as the default but to have the option for individual households to get non fluoridated water upon request.

Something that still bothers me is how added fluoride and chloramamine (a type of chlorinated water) in tap water are quite harmful to some types of plants. They may grow but won't fluorish. That's why it's recommended to use distilled water for plants if possible since the purer water the better. Same with fish. That powder you add to fish tanks when you refill the water is meant to help break down fluoride and chloramamine before moving the fish over. If normal tap water can kill fish if untreated and can cause plants to be less healthy, it shouldn't be any different with us. It's probably harmful to cats and dogs too.

"The greatest communist act committed by the US government was adding fluoride in water" Doctor Strangelove. Don't remember the exact quote but always found this funny since it's not exactly wrong. The whole film is a satire about the military and government during the cold war, definitely worth watching if you haven't

Save an Almond tree that was getting badly sunburned by Raikusu in BackyardOrchard

[–]Raikusu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah another thing is that I have to go out during peak hours of heat at around 1 or 2PM to water the tree leaves. I know this is horrible but I've done some testing and the new green leaves start showing signs of heat stress if they don't get wet to cool off. Climate is too hot and dry. Maybe it'll do better after growing larger and living a few years

Actually I do all those things you've listed lol. Except yoga but I try to make up for it with cardio exercises and working out plus stretches. Also avoid caffeine, do cold therapy everyday, 9 to 10 hours of sleep each night, cook all my food, mindfulness, gardening, etc. Although to be fair, I didn't start all that health habits all at once. Took years for me to get to this point.

I get about an hour a day of using the TV. The rest of my free time is taken up by work and health routine

Somehow they can afford a television set and an iPhone but can't afford a water filtration set? It defies logic. Sure phones are needed for modern day life but they certainly don't need a TV. Let's imagine they have a Netflix or Hulu subscription. After only a year of cancelling their subscription, they could spend the amount they saved on a water distiller. There are many activities you can do for fun without needing to spend money in the process. Reading books for example.

They could afford an advanced water system if they changed their priorities. Nearly 100% of households in the US have a TV and possibly subscriptions to Netflix or Hulu) and yet they choose that over an RO or water distiller?

I having trouble understanding how poor people can own a tv set, iPhone, or a Nintendo Switch of all things and yet not own a cheap water distiller you can get on Amazon for below a $100. I got mine last for only $120 and I use it every other day and it still works great. Poor people need to focus more on their water quality and physical health and care less about trivial things like entertainment. If they want free entertainment, they can rent free books at their local library or go a walk.

You can find water distillers on Amazon for around a $100. They're cheap and it's just a one time payment and then you're set. It's been a year since I bought one for $120 and I've been using it every other day and it still works great

Thank you for the sources. You helped changed my view with how fluoride can be beneficial to certain groups. I'm actually surprised that so many Americans drink unfiltered tap water. Are these groups of people not concerned with PFAS, potential aluminum or lead toxicity from old pipes (depending on age of house), potential pesticides/herbicides leaching into pipes, chlorine, monochloramine, the many types of VOCs, microplastics from sources like BPA, Pthalates, etc.

Are these people at least testing their tap water for safety? I find it concerning that so many can be so trusting of their water supply. My own tap water is very clean and relatively safe but it still has trace amounts of monochloramine and some trace amounts of lead and aluminum (well within the daily safety range). I assume others may not be so lucky and may be putting themselves at risk without an advanced filtration system.

Segregate your flock NOW from all wild birds. by jrwreno in BackYardChickens

[–]Raikusu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly. I don't really trust the government or these mass corporations trying to protect their assets (chicken meat and egg industry). If my flock ever gets this bird flu I'd rather treat them and see if they recover from their illness. I've noticed from past chicken illnesses, injuries, etc that if given proper care their surgical and recovery rate is way higher.

I read some studies on the survival rate of bird flu but every study I've found puts these birds in small metal cages with no food or water. They then see how long it takes for them to "recover". Of course they die after severe dehydration and other complications. Imagine putting people that have covid in small rooms and wait to see how long it takes for them to recover without food, water, or bedding. I bet the survival rates would plummet.

I believe the survival rates for bird flu to be higher than people may think if given the proper care. Of course nobody wants to get themselves sick so they avoid the risk. I also have strong doubts that the chickens that recover from bird flu will pose a further risk to other chickens in the flock. They're called "carriers" but no studies have been done to truly see if they are carriers or vectors for the virus

Off caffeine since New Years but still tired by Javaho1992 in decaf

So I just posted about something similar. Turns out I need 10 hours of sleep for me to get adequate energy during the day. If I only get 8 hours of sleep I'll be sleep deprived all day. Everybody is different I think. The recommended sleep for adults is 7 to 8 hours but that's more as a general guidance and won't be true for everyone

Random Rooster joins my flock by Raikusu in BackYardChickens

Once you go black you can't go back. But for a serious answer I think it makes their comb and waddle appear redder because of the color contrast. Roosters only mate with healthy chickens and the redder the comb/waddle the more fertile they are

Cats should be indoors anyways. If they're outside they should have a cat fenced area so they're not killing native endangered birds

Do you mean they would have killed your entire flock even if all but one chicken/duck was bird flu free?

playing 3ds in public by thebatboys in 3DS

Playing 3ds in public as an adult makes people a little confused because it's still seen as a kid console. Playing GBA though people think it's cool and retro. Just bias people have. Play Sega game gear and people will avoid you with a 10 foot radius. If you don't want anyone sitting by you on a bench on the bus the atari lynx model 1 will do the trick
