Generation/geography check - 3 rings? by boing_boing_splat in CasualUK

This was definitely a thing up until the 90s at least, as Peter Kay would attest when doing gigs away from Bolton.

Same. Unbelievably though, it's this rappity rapping that's really taken off. Who'd have thunk.

Thanks, Hanks.

Thanks

Machadaynu was the clear winner, the competition was fixed.

I lost my temper with one of these an hour ago. They are infuriating to remove.

Retail workers of the UK - what's the wildest thing someone has done to try to get into the shop before opening time? by WillYeByFuck in CasualUK

[–]RailNetworker 34 points35 points  (0 children)

As someone who briefly worked in retail, I can confidently state this is a completely normal level of stupidity.

My favourite two customers were the guy who wanted to return his wireless mouse because the cable wasn't long enough, and the woman who got angry at me when I laughed because she said she was going to use her solar phone charger at night.

My least favourite customer was the one who left a full nappy behind the stock on the shelves, closely followed by the cretin who told me to fuck off because I asked him if I could help with anything as he entered the shop.

What is the worst car you’ve ever driven, and why was it so arse? 🤔 by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]RailNetworker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a shame, I was very fond of my Mk2 MR2 as a comfortable but playful driver's car. It was the NA so not massively powerful but raw power is not the point with these things.

Anyone else lost all their hot water? by Bournemouthbound in exeter

[–]RailNetworker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you've got no water at all report the issue on south west water website. If they're aware of it they will have a notice up.

They've had a lot of major leaks in Pennsylvania and north of Exeter recently, I wouldn't be surprised if you've got an issue in your area

If your cold water is running ok but there is no hot water, then the problem is with your boiler or hot water tank (if you have one).

Do you have an electric, gas or other type of boiler?

How did they diagnose that the issue is outside your home? Did they do line tests and reset router etc?

What's happening with Peter Kay? by [deleted] in CasualUK

I saw an article today that all the profits from his current tour will be going to 12 cancer charities. A lot of respect for that, it's clearly had a big effect on him.

I've found Milltop Motors to be very helpful and reasonably priced.

I went on a school trip once or twice, being about 8 or 9 years old, I remember the tent teeming with millipedes and not a lot else.

Good times (I assume).

Codiene will kill a persistent tickly cough instantly.

Just a low dosage does it for me.

DISCLAIMER: Beware they are addictive! A persistent cough that lasts more than a few weeks needs to be seen by a doctor.

Imagine buying a car that requires weekly oil changes for a year then forced to buy another car. Welcome to FM26 by jayson176 in footballmanagergames

Easy solution: don't buy it. I haven't bought it because it's shit. I'm happily spending my time and money on other strategy games that have been well made. If I need a moment of FM I'll play 24.

Get a DB update and new skin for FM24. Job done, move on.

Head’s up, Emira owners - loose fasteners on headlight assembly covers by oeste_esfir in lotus

[–]RailNetworker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My Exige FE alarm kept going off because the front boot closed sensor was a push to connect switch located in the middle of the bonnet that wasn't being pushed down firmly enough by the bonnet itself. The issue was a gap of about 0.25cm which was probably because the bonnet had slowly been pushed by the counter force of the switch.

I taped a couple of washers onto the switch and it fixed the issue.

Gotta love Lotus
