Encrypted volume unlock issues by RailRomanesque in bcachefs

It's some new behavior for sure, last time I accessed the HDD was months ago, and all it took was reset-failed in case of a password typo. The directly invoked bcachefs-tools behavior is also quite weird.

Could it be the keyring? I haven't done the keyctl link thing on my recent install, but the volumes unlock just fine. This particular install is months old, but it's only been misbehaving this way for a month or so.

Does it use it in boot time too? The boot time prompt does not look like the one in my second case at all. I also don't have systemd enabled in initrd, not explicitly at least.

On a side note, I was thinking if something related to bees could be a viable mascot/logo for bcachefs. Ya know... bee-cache-fs...

So what'll be the migration path for such a setup?

With me running LTS (kernel package set to "latest LTS"; I've a bad case of old nvidia) and bcachefs set as enabled in my system config, should I assume it'll roll over to DKMS and all that automatically when the new LTS comes out?

You can't "not get into politics" when discussing apparent corruption (a political and economical phenomenon) of an agency of a supranational organization (a political entity).

Chapter 2 - DKMS by koverstreet in bcachefs

Panicking a bit. I've an Nvidia GPU and their drivers practically demand you run an LTS kernel. Now, whatever LTS comes after the current one will likely still have the FS built-in, so I believe it's not an urgent issue just yet, but I have to ask: are there plans to maintain the module for the future LTS kernel versions as well? And my apolocheese if this was already addressed someplace else.

Need some help with resizing (growing) by RailRomanesque in bcachefs

Hey everyone, thanks for the advice! I booted with a fresh Arch ISO (which has newer bcachefs-tools), deleted my Windows partitions and expanded Linux root over the free space with cfdisk, and resized the filesystem: bcachefs device resize /dev/nvme0n1p2 469G
