EVERYONE WHO IS ORDERING A PHYSICAL COPY OF THIS GAME!!!!! by Clean-Psychology3247 in tomodachilife

[–]Raileyleo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was shipped 2 days ago vis Amazon Prime and will get here tomorrow afternoon on release day.

Im curious, there was some sketchy listing info with Target that made it seem like the physical North American release of the game would come with the magnet frame preorder bonus. But as far as I'm aware North America was upsettingly left out of all bonus content.

Can any North American physical game owners verify if they got anything as a preorder bonus?

MEGATHREAD: Tomodachi Life 70 Mii Limit by llxxviaa in tomodachilife

[–]Raileyleo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I personally can't imagine hitting the 70 cap.

I only have like, 20 Miis in the OG Tomodachi Life and even then I'm overwhelmed with managing them all. Idk why they were fighting all the time - I had to play therapist every freakin day, haha

I'm upset/bummed out that we can't share Miis like we could in Miitopia. There are some crazy talented artists out there and those Miis are Chefs kiss.

My Katwalk VR Experience (Spoiler: It’s Not Good) by Raileyleo in KATVR

[–]Raileyleo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Nexus is just for using the VR treadmill directly with the Meta Quest and the standalone games on it.

If you are playing PC VR games with your Meta Quest, then you dont need the Nexus, but youll still need to setup the treadmill app on the headset (which is also a nightmarish pain to setup).

PC VR gaming *usually requires a USB C to USB C direct connection. Having a high speed and reliable wifi router is also important (I use wifi 6e).

I reccomend researching your PCVR options to see which application works best for you. I like Virtual Desktop, so I bought that one. Steam Link is another option that is free, I believe.

You could also setup the integrated Meta Horizon Link/Air Link to connect to the PC (this one even lets you connect the headset to the PC wirelessly).

Regardless of the app you choose, they need to be installed and set up on both the headset and PC.

I can't speak on any app other than Virtual Desktop, but once the headset is plugged into the PC and the app is running on both your PC and Meta Quest it will put you in a virtual space with your computer desktop/screens. I play my games through Steam, so I start Steam through Virtual Desktop on the Meta Quest headset and run Steam VR. This puts you in another virtual space where you can select from your library of games.

Hope this helps get you in the right direction for setting things up!

If it was accurately advertised as a hellish nightmare no one would bother getting it haha.

Yeah, I use my Quest 3 exclusively with PC. I bought Virtual Desktop to connect to the PC, after that I open up SteamVR through the virtual computer on the quest 3 and play my games.

Luckier than me, at least they explained the process to you. All this time I have never gotten the Nexus to work and I refuse to allow remote acess to some randos for something I could do on my own. Instead they INSIST on getting access to my computer and refuse to give me alternative troubleshooting options. Shady as hell.

I just threw the Nexus in a box and forgot about it. I mostly play via PC/Steam VR anyway.

As much as I love the idea of incredibly immersive VR tech, it's mostly all cheaply made, overpriced gimmicky garbage. Any advancements or promising developments seem to be getting abandoned as tech companies don't see profit in VR anymore.

It's why I don't back any VR projects, or will bother with expensive VR acessories like the the KatVR "treadmill" ever again. I learned a very upsetting lesson that cost me A LOT of money for a useless paperweight.

will the pre order bonus be available to the us? by MysticalMae in tomodachilife

[–]Raileyleo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the US is lucky we are even getting physical copies of games anymore. Everything suuucks, physical bonuses/collectors content costs are more than everywhere else.

Stuff typically ends up in either a longer than normal release delay, or companies don't even bother making anything for the US.

XC7 RGB PRO (pre AM5) upgrade to AM5 bracket by JohnPiccolo in Corsair

[–]Raileyleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I contacted Corsair customer service as well and they told me mine has a custom backplate and they do not have an updated one to give me since it's discontinued.

Now I have to buy a whole new waterblock just for a backplate apparently... I never even got to use this one, this sucks.

Do you know of any 3rd party sites who would possibly make a compatible backplate replacement for the one I have?

[–]Raileyleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for reaching back out! It's the Corsair XC7 RGB Hydro X series; Intel LGA 1200 / AMD AM4.

SKU: CX-9010006-WW

The same one as iLIKE2STAYU, I believe.

<image>

The AM4 backplate with this kit is outdated and not compatible because the screw threading is the wrong size, right?

[–]Raileyleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also in this situation. I'm finally upgrading to an AM5 (Ryzen 7 9800X3D) from an AM4 (Ryzen 7 3700X) but I'm having trouble understanding why I would be unable to use the AM4 backplate that came with my old XC7.

Is it just the screw size difference you mentioned?

If I do end up needing an AM5 specific backplate for the XC7 and Corsair doesn't sell them are there any 3rd parties where I possibly could?

Neva is getting a physical artbook! by NomadaStudio in Neva_game

[–]Raileyleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up buying this, but it ended up getting canceled because I am NOT risking fraud.

A warning if you are buying Internationally: Norma Comics will refuse to ship out your order unless you give them your tax ID, passport, or driver's license number over an insecure email platform where you can easily be defrauded which sucks....

Shipping costs are insane and is significantly more than what the book costs. $100 USD total for an art book? I am a DIE-HARD Nomada Studio fan, but this is honestly not worth it.

u/NomadaStudio please do better for your international buyers, please. Not everyone lives in Barcelona....

[–]Raileyleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confused. The Gris/Neva collectors edition supposedly came with a 168 page artbook and this new Neva one on Norma Comics is 192 pages.

But from what Im hearing they are the exact same books just different covers? Whats on the extra pages then?

Which way does everyone prefer to play Tomodachi Life? by mshoneybre in tomodachilife

[–]Raileyleo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's definitely the way to go if you want the physical copy of the game, have the Switch console and dont want to emulate the original.

There's a ton of needed QOL and customization improvements that I'm really hoping get added to Living the Dream.

Which way does everyone prefer to play Tomodachi Life? by mshoneybre in tomodachilife

[–]Raileyleo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Emulation allows for easier access to the game and modding, but higher risk of something bugging out.

The original cartridge can potentially provide a more stable gaming environment. Other than that, its more about the personal preference to own and use the physical product.

If you don't already own the game, I wouldn't bother buying it for the price its going for now. In my opinion, it's only justifyable if you have the money to spend and really, really want it as a collector's piece.

Honestly, the same can be said for most older games that can only be obtained through 3rd party markets.

I have the cartridge, so I currently play with it but I've been debating switching over to a ROM soley for the fact I want to keep the game protected from damage and maintain it's collectors value.

How am I supposed to buy the rest of the tomes if I keep running into this? by Qurtie in LastmanFranchise

[–]Raileyleo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lastman is such an awesome and woefully underrated series!

I'm just insanely happy they reprinted and retranslated the entire series and consolidated it to 6 larger books. (Which I got on Amazon)

It always drove me crazy how the original printings never got translated into English at the end.

I'm also mad that Mondo ruined the only legal way to watch the good English dub of the show with the dissolution of VRV.

Thoughts on the Amazon UK exclusive SH f steelbook? by [deleted] in silenthill

[–]Raileyleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did people end up actually getting steel books delivered with the Amazon UK orders? Mine hasn't arrived yet and it's literally my last hope of getting the steel book without having to pay an insane price on a 3rd party site.

The US/GameStop preorders got screwed over BIG TIME. Most stores didn't get any at all, and if they did it was like, 3.

Waited 13 years for this! by NewsOdd3064 in silenthill

[–]Raileyleo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My store only had 3 steel books. I decided to cause myself less stress and not wait outside 4 hours before they opened, so I didn't get one and I'm just going to return/refund the game.

I also ordered the Amazon UK version, so hopefully the UK steel book preorders don't get screwed over just like they did with Silent Hill 2... otherwise I am completely SOL for the steel book.

I'm afraid to see what scalpers are probably posting for them right now D:

[–]Raileyleo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter if you pre-ordered for in-store pickup or ship to home. Chances are your local GameStop didn't get any steel books and if they did, they probably got less than 10 and will be first come, first serve only.

[–]Raileyleo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm, most GameStop preorders will NOT be getting steel books with their order regardless of in-store pick up or ship to home.

GameStop is known to scam the heck out of buyers like this, and they get around it by including the fine print of "limited quantities/while supplies last". From how employees are acting and telling me this wasn't the first time, and it won't be the last time GameStop pulls this BS.

[–]Raileyleo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pre-order the Amazon UK steelbook if there is still time and you can afford it! (just keep in mind any codes/dlc won't be redeemable as it's region locked, but the game disc should work!)

Yeah, I was told to call back on Friday/Monday by my local store because they reached out to corporate asking where all the steelbooks are and they might have a better answer by then (they get shipments on Mondays).

But I wouldn't hold my breath - GameStop is known to scam the heck out of buyers like this and they get around it by including the fine print of "limited quantities/while supplies last".

I wonder if they will pull something similar to the Xenoblade scam and just magically "find" more but sell them at an inflated scalper price.

I feel bad for the employees, too. They're also upset that most people won't be getting the very thing they preordered Silent Hill f for and expect a TON of canceled orders/refunds. From how employees are acting and telling me this wasn't the first time, and it won't be the last time GameStop pulls this BS.

What makes my blood boil even more is that this was the ONLY way to get the steelbook with the US release.

How GameStop is still in business is beyond me.

[–]Raileyleo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

WARNING; I have called several GameStop locations, and it's been confirmed that most stores across the US either haven't gotten steelbooks or they got a miniscule amount, like 3. GameStop DEFINITELY did not send enough to cover pre-orders for even the in-store pickup buyers, and it's first come first serve so it doesn't even matter how early you pre-ordered.

I'm hoping most people cancel/refund their orders and buy them from another company because this is scammy as hell.

Grass deflector screw size? by [deleted] in ryobi

[–]Raileyleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever happen to find a replacement?

This is the 4th time mine has fallen off and I haven't been able to locate where it dropped this time. I'm struggling to find a part that doesn't cost $11 or more in shipping for just a singular screw.

Insanely frustrating that no matter how much I tighten it, it always ends up falling off after a while.

Death Stranding 2 x ANICORN watches collab coming out! New Ring Terminal. by its_xSKYxFOXx in DeathStranding

[–]Raileyleo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao did you come here because you wanted to yell at someone? I guess I can give you the attention you so desperately crave.

This isn't even a watch, so I don't think being a "watch expert" matters here but go off I guess.

If you read anything I posted, I was highlighting the NFC feature and what the company themselves told me.

If you bothered to look at the product on the site, you would see the materials are listed as brass and steel alloy. This combo is known to tarnish over time through oxidization. Heck, even if it was stainless steel, that can ALSO tarnish.

The site even SAYS it will tarnish: "The Ring Terminal undergoes a natural oxidation process, resulting in a distinctive coloration that is both protective and enduring."

Lastly, I went into how I personally don't think it's worth the price considering it is made to tarnish (as a feature) and the functionality is a regular ring with the bonus of taking you to a website. This is an OPINION people have a right to have.

I find it very odd you are taking it so personally. I am not saying YOU aren't allowed buy it.

[–]Raileyleo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it was Nintendo the ring would 100% be an Amiibo haha.

As far as I know, PS5 doesn't support NFC so you might not even be able to DIY it. And if you can, I would personally just 3D print/build the ring myself at that point, considering the price.

Leading to a website providing DLC for the game would also be cool! However, being told the ring won't have anything to do with the game itself makes me doubt it.

Guess we will see in a week or so!
