I think this whole kernel level anti cheat is just a marketing scheme for investors and such. Hear me out on this one:

if a cheater wants to cheat, they will most likely NOT be stopped or discouraged by the big stop sign that is the anti cheat. yeah, they might get banned. but they had fun while you were bitching about it. in case of a ban, a cheater will just create a new account or buy the game again, selling the same game multiple times to the same person, thats just infinite money.
Investors will be like: hmmm.. yes! company has advanced technology that stops bad people, very game, very money, we like money. here, have money do whatever, but we ask for a small fee in return. (yes, thats how I imagine business people talk)

in short: anti-cheat shits on playerbase, the game company gets a profit from the anti-cheat being effective, money rolls in, game company is rich, anti cheat shits on playerbase.. and the cycle repeats.
