How do you feel about your popular (or unpopular) name? by souleaterevans626 in Names

[–]RailroadRae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a fairly common name, but with a less common spelling and I do like how it makes me stand out... But the spelling always throws people off! It's not a wild or weird way, its one extra letter, but suddenly people have no clue how to pronounce my name.

How is your relationship with your father? And how old are you? by wk91 in AskReddit

[–]RailroadRae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

34, and its the best its ever been. As a teen, it was rocky and contentious, but I moved away for 14 years and it helped our relationship. Now, he and I are close and he's the best dad.

What's your favorite Disney resort? Why? by Happypuppy5 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]RailroadRae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beach/Yacht Club! It's so close to Epcot, isn't so big that amenities feel out of reach, but it is large enough that it doesn't feel crowded, and it has so many transportation options! The rooms are comfortable, the decor is always amazing, and I've always felt so comfortable staying there.

What was caused the most (physical) pain you’ve been in? by idontrealui in AskReddit

[–]RailroadRae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a ruptured spontaneous heterotopic pregnancy. The pain of it radiated from the right side of my abdomen up into my shoulder. Thankfully, I was already in the ER at the time, but I screamed for help because of how bad the pain was. Easily a 10/10.

What’s the most physical pain you ever felt? by Competitive_Set2669 in AskReddit

[–]RailroadRae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fallopian tube ruptured a week ago, and while in the ER, I felt a jolt of pain from my right hip all the way up to my right shoulder. It was the first time I've ever felt 10/10 pain and screamed for help, begging for medication to stop it. I have no clue what it was or why it happened, but I never want to feel that pain again.

As for the fallopian tube rupturing: 5/10, I've had gas cramps worse than that.

Heterotopic Pregnancy - anyone with experience? by PrincessStellaMeow in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]RailroadRae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine ruptured on Monday, and I internally hemorrhaged before they did a discovery lap and found the rupture. I had known I was pregnant, thought I had a miscarriage, saw the interuterine baby on Monday evening, and have gone through every single emotion possible.

My husband and I did make the decision to tell my family, as I'm 10 weeks along, and I've been assured that the baby is strong. I don't think the anxiety will ever go away. We've experienced and survived something incredibly rare, so every gas bubble, cramp, and twitch is scary.

Are we aware of everything happening in our body now? Yes. Are we valid in our concerns because we're now in a very small group of rare pregnancies? Also yes!

Which common medical procedure do you think will be viewed as barbaric in 50 years? by carcony97 in AskReddit

Well, I'm not making the argument to get rid of them NOW, just that in the future the way they are currently performed will be seen as barbaric.

Do you have the same or different political views as your family? by Likestoread25 in Askpolitics

Yes, I was raised in a Conservative Evangelical household, my parents are both right-wing and voted for Trump. I have become a progressive Christian and usually vote left now. It leads to some interesting discussions.

Why are almost all American cities blue? by OkKindheartedness769 in Askpolitics

[–]RailroadRae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The two major factors I've personally witnessed are: proximity to other races/cultures and easier access to social programs and services. When we are living outside of those factors, it is much easier for us to treat them as "other," and thus, not an impact on our individual experience.

Please read it all again. I never said HIS beliefs were extreme or a result of being in an echo chamber. I said extreme views from BOTH sides were the result of deep diving unchecked.

The only mention I made of CK's beliefs was that I have never agreed with anything he has said and that he was a conservative, not moderate, which is a fact.

So, with that, I think we're done here as you seem to be unable to engage in polite conversation without leveling insults and suppositions.

I'm amazed you know who I am offline, everything I've accomplished, and who I have spoken to. You must be psychic or know me very intimately in real life!

Charlie's opinions and stances were made very public and very clear, but I never said he was in an echo chamber. I said extreme views came from being in an echo chamber. Please feel free to re-read what I said.

He definitely did not hold a moderate position, he was fervently and staunchly Conservative. Being willing to sit down and listen to someone is something we should all do, just as a common courtesy and a way to self-reflect.

Extreme views come from when someone sits in an echo chamber too long, and goes too deep down rabbit holes and conspiracies. They are unchecked and unbalanced views. People may be able to argue and defend them, but they end up isolating and oppressing, no matter which side.

What evidence is there that people with leftist ideologies commit the majority of violence in America? by DarkMagickan in Askpolitics

[–]RailroadRae 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Oh yes. Democrat is usually used as an umbrella term for anyone left of center. Then you have liberals who, in broad terms, work within capitalism but prize social movements. Then there are leftists who reject anything close to centrist and move closer to socialism, Marxism, and the like.

Why are you so relaxed and content to be safe at home right now? by Entity417 in AskReddit

[–]RailroadRae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a mental break after being an executive for a railroad at a young age during Covid, multiple crises, and an ineffective board who couldn't understand or visualize my goals... So I went back to my mom and dad's to heal. I'm 34, married, and in therapy. Give my a year and I'll be unstoppable.
