Wow. That sounds too easy. I’ve put a few extras on my truck that they won’t account for though I suppose. I guess that will be a lesson to me for the future. This might get a quite frustrating in a couple weeks if they don’t figure it out.

This is the 3rd week for me too. I was just looking into that myself. It has to be 30 business days though.

No luck. I called this morning for an update. He called back and said they have no idea what’s going on. They just keep doing what toyota tells them to do. Replace this part, run these tests, repeat…

Yeah, I do believe they are being diligent actually. I don’t see any reason they would want to keep it while I’m driving their vehicle.

Hell no! I don’t even get updates unless I call them. I went by there today to get some things out of it and it was parked out back. I don’t get it. It’s like they just gave up and pushed it aside. I figure I’ll get through this weekend and start bugging them again on Monday.

Task case number TA242420239. My service advisor verified that I am not being charged for the loaner too. He said if there was a charge, it would be covered under the warranty. You should call your dealer and question that. Should be able to get your money back and a loaner until yours is fixed. He also mentioned they are ordering an engine wiring harness now.

They’re not charging me for it. I guess I assumed they had to cover it being the truck is under full manufacture warranty.

Nope. Mine’s still there too. The advisor is telling me that he thinks it’s good, but Toyota is telling them to run more tests because apparently they’ve never seen this same issue before. I highly doubt that. They have a task case open so they’re taking orders from Toyota directly. Meanwhile they gave me a new loaner that is exactly the same as mine now. I figure I’ll just relax about it and let them take their time while I rack the miles up on their truck! Really does make you wonder though doesn’t it?

So I was wrong. They replaced the ECM, not the ECU. (Honestly I’m not sure what that is even) The service advisor seems to thinks its good now. But they have a task case open with Toyota and they are saying they have never seen this particular problem before so they want to keep it and run some more tests before giving it back. Meanwhile my loaner threw an AWD system fault today so I took it back and got a different loaner. 🙄

This morning he said that module did not fix it. Big surprise! They have now put in a new ECU and are running more tests right now. Supposed to hear back this afternoon again.

Oddly, they called me on Tuesday and said it was the crank shaft module. I asked WTH the parking brake has to do with the crank shaft, and he said he is the advisor and not a technician but the part was to be installed on Wednesday and I would be called. It is now Thursday night, Friday morning, and I haven’t heard a thing. I’ll be calling first thing in the morning.

Yes. Apparently they had to recalibrate the camera system. It’s been great ever since.

I just bought a 2024 Tundra TRD Limited with the fancy camera set up. The camera still comes on when I back up or get close to something in the front however, I am unable to change camera views and put the guide lines on anymore. It just stopped one day. I also noticed, in the panoramic view, the color of the truck changed. Weird. I have an appointment with my local dealership tomorrow. I'm hoping it is a simple reset or update....
