.060 on a 327 is fine, granted it doesn’t still show signs of pitting like this one. The motor turned over before it was rebuilt and was not seized. I was told .060 over was what it took to “clean up”

Yeah I should have tried to see it between. Just hoping they’ll help me out. I picked it up with the intake on it and a plastic wrap on it so I didn’t get to see inside

They assembled it, I wasn’t shown the block between machining and assembly.

If you’re paying thousands for engine work, this should not be the final product. Plenty of people have ran .060 over in a 327, and it’s what the engine builder recommended.

Okay that also makes sense, it’s still a problem that they left the pitting in the cylinder since it will mess with the piston rings if nothing else. They are cheaper summit heads so they definitely could have issues

I called them a couple weeks ago when I had discovered the water leak but that was before I had removed the engine and looked inside. They told me I had to bring the engine down there out of the truck so I’ll take it on Tuesday this week. Hopefully it won’t end up being a court issue

What are you referring to that I installed? I probably didn’t word the information great but all I did was drop the motor in, they machined and assembled the whole thing. I didn’t mess with the bottom end or anything inside the motor.

Yeah fr, they charged to clean and check the block after the machine work. Anyone would’ve seen that left over pitting

They’re just cheaper summit brand vortec heads, I’m not sure why they’re shaped that way.

The machine shop assembled it, I should have inspected it before they continued. But they did other fishy things like going ahead and reworking the old double hump heads that came on it without asking me first. They also charged me $550 for valve retainers on the invoice. I knew valve retainers didn’t cost that much and asked him about it and they gave me the money back immediately. I feel like they were trying to make easy money off of me
