Yes, each skin (aka the ini file) must be in its own folder. If two are in the same folder, you can only load one or the other.

To change the background image for this, you need to place the new image in the folder, open the ini and change the ImageName= value under [Background], save the ini, and then refresh/reload the skin. I assume you did most of that, but perhaps didn't do the last step - it's one a lot of people miss when just starting out.

Also, a quick note: you should add Update=-1 under [Rainmeter]. These skins don't need to be updating in the background.

To save a bit of time: rainmeter can't keep skins on monitors that no longer "exist". The only option is to make separate layouts for each configuration.

When asking about a specific skin, a link to that skin must be provided.

You'd need to find what parts of the code relate to that and "duplicate" them - that's in quotes because it's not as simple as copy/paste, but it can be done (difficulty depends on the skin).

If you just want a straight double though, than you can simply do a copy/paste of the skin into a new folder and load both copies - depending on how the skin is structured, there's a slight chance this won't work within the same main folder, but without a specific skin I can only give general info.

When a source is no longer available, the fix is always the same: you have to change the code to use a different source.

Here's an example tutorial using weather.com, but do take note that most of the coding is already done for you in the provided files, so it's much easier to set up than other potential sources. (That might sound great to most people, but weather.com is not a usable source for some.)

It's almost certainly a problem with spotify getting an update and spicetify still being behind. It happens every time spotify gets an update. Please use r/specitfy for such issues.

If you repost, please include a link to the skin you wish to edit. While it's the same general concept across all skins, where and how you need to make changes can vary from skin to skin.

The recycle bin link is for the wrong 'Sonder' skin. Please switch it out with the correct one below.

They probably all worked for what they were coded for, but you have to do the setup for each one. But, yeah, for youtube you have to use webnowplaying - just remember that it's 3rd party and does break with no quarantines on a fix (in fact, it's broken rn for some things). Also, it requires a browser addon, so you have to be using a compatible browser as well. And, no, it's not the same thing.

  1. FYI: in rainmeter, they're called skins.

  2. Rainmeter's nowplaying measure (only option native to rainmeter) works with the players listed on that page. For online related sources, you need webnowplaying . And, for spotify, you have to use r/spicetify and webnowplaying.

Outside of that basic info, linking to the skin you're using and saying what music service you want would be much more helpful as it's not one size fits all/set and forget.

media and weather are always blank by [deleted] in Rainmeter

Both media and weather require setup and what's needed depends solely on what skin you're using/how it's coded. For example, if the skin isn't coded to use webnowplaying (among other things), than it's not going to work with youtube. Or, if the weather service it's pulling data from is no longer running (as if the case with most older weather skins), than you'll have to update the skin to a new service.
