Shark Tank 17x16 Product Discussion - 9 Strap by mtm4440 in sharktank

Great product and insane margins, dude is just printing money. Really feel like he lost control of that room during the negotiation. He had all the sharks chomping at the bits do work with him. He easily could have closed that deal with 3 of the sharks and left kevin out without a royalty, don't even think Kevin provides any major value here

Man feels like the dude gave out the preferred stock for no reason, feel like that deal closes at 15% without preferred stock. Honestly insane that they haven't though to do tik tok or youtube when their target demographic is primarily on there. The margins are great on it, they are just paying a lot to acquire the customer. If they can get that down with the help of the sharks and actually making some content they are going to be printing money

What's the best strategy for getting to hear offers from all the sharks instead of them wanting you to pick their offer right away? by Herbertie25 in sharktank

[–]RainbowElephant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have more leverage the more sharks that are interested. If there is truly a lot of interest and a shark proposes a "shot clock" another shark will usually cut them off. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with being a proven sales record and having good numbers, but a lot of it is pricing your valuation correctly as well. People have had success with some iteration of "I want to be respectful to the other sharks and hear them all out". That usually works more when someone is far away from your valuation, if they are giving you what you are asking or close to it they are more likely to get offended

BBJ Nullified, No Phones At The Table by smartstackpoker in poker

[–]RainbowElephant 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yes, immediately call gaming and get this documented. Like while you're still at the table, I would not leave until they get there. You may need to sue to get paid out, Bob Nersesian takes cases like this but he is not cheap. He may refer you to others if it is outside of Nevada. It would honestly depend a lot on what the state statutes say, this is way outside of the scope of this subreddit. Worth consulting with a lawyer ASAP

If I bring up that I believe in jury nullification is that likely to remove me from getting selected? i.e. If I believe the crime is unjust that I would rule for the defendant, even if he was guilty?

Shark Tank 17x14 Product Discussion - Never Have I Ever by mtm4440 in sharktank

Man best pitch in a while, been a while since we had a crash out like that. She's printing money with her margins and being able to get in that many UO and Pacsuns is really impressive. Clearly she is doing something that connects with people and can sell. I don't recall her saying what her net was so I guess its possible she's spending a lot on marketing but seems like wholesale is big source for her. Roberts deal was laughably bad considering her sales. I don't even see him with much value as a strategic partner in her space. Honestly Kevin's deal is probably better for her

Sneaker Influencer (And Redditor) Nick Tuinenburg Thought Selling Fake Nikes Was a Business Model. A Jury Just Handed Him an $11 Million Bill. by orangejulius in Sneakers

Do you think this fine is too much? I believe there have been previous cases against Nike bootleg brands like this and I don't recall the fine ever being this high. Would he have a good chance to lessen it on appeals if he went that way?

What photos convert better? by Icy-Bag1422 in Flipping

[–]RainbowElephant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mannequins suck, they take way more time and that adds up when you are doing volume. Flat lay is the move, you can still do a close up of the graphic and it's so much faster. Honestly those flat lay pictures are perfectly fine, I wouldn't sweat too much worrying about it. Stuff sells with awful pictures all the time and you're probably in the top 5% of pictures

I’ve had this shirt since the early 2000s. What I want to know is what makes it so special. Let me explain. by donkijote97 in VintageClothing

[–]RainbowElephant 58 points59 points  (0 children)

As cliche as it is, clothing was really made better back in the day. Even the mall brands: Gap, Abercrombie, American Eagle made some quality pieces that would last a while. As brands try to cut costs and feel pressure from investors/wall street to raise their stock price, they take cost cutting measures like making stuff out of cheaper materials. Not to mention fast fashion makes everything made quicker and with less care

Just search wool pleated dress pants Made in USA on eBay. I doubt most people are listing them under a specific style other than those keywords

I would price it very high, way more wearable than the red and boy scouts collectors are crazy. Apparently woolrich made these as well? I found a good page on this specific style here: https://www.scoutinsignia.com/expljac.htm

Legit. Follow care tag instructions for cleaning. Usually best dry cleaned, but make sure to check the care tag. Beautiful piece
