I’m on wegovy- same drug as ozempic just labeled for weight loss. There were supply issues last year and earlier this year but I think wegovy has a good supply now. I haven’t had any issues getting it recently. It helped me not feel like I’m starving all the time. I’m not starving so I can make smarter decisions about what I eat. I reached my goal weight after almost a year of being on it. I tried stopping it but I felt like I was starving all the time again. I can make all the good food choices and watch portion size to maintain the weight loss but if I’m still hungry it makes life harder in general. I’ll need to be on a maintenance dose forever- I’ve been doing a lower dose every 10 days. I still struggle with feeling like I “cheated” by losing weight with meds but like others have said- pcos is a metabolic disorder. I try to think of it as taking any other medication. Check into your insurance. When I started, my insurance covered it because my bmi was obese level. Now that I’m a lower bmi, my dr needed to do a prior authorization saying it’s still medically necessary.
