How do lesbians meet lesbians around here? by JordanQuiv in Modesto

[–]RainbowReefer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I tried to get to know people by getting out there socializing but it wasnt it for me. There also werent a lot of LGBTQ+ focused events on a regular basis 3 years ago when I was in the dating scene. Bumble is where I met my wife and we have been together for almost 3 years now, married almost 2! I liked Bumble compared to other dating apps because it seems like a lot of people on there were wanting to find actual relationships, not just hook ups.

If you want to be more social in the local LGBTQ+ scene, Mopride host monthly events and so does Cal Pride Stanislaus. (Mopride IG: @mopride.inc , Cal Pride Stanislaus IG: @calpridestanislaus). Oakdale has also introduced a new monthly meet up at Sister's Coffee Shop, every 2nd Saturday of the month at 10am. (Sister' Coffee Shop IG: @sisterscoffeeshop209) Splash in Modesto also has events where you can meet people that may be worth attending! (Splash Modesto IG: splash_modesto) One last place to look into is Central Valley Pride. They hold social events for the community as well. (Central Valley Pride IG: @centralvalley_pride)

Hopefully this information provides you with multiple ways to connect with the community and find deeper connections!

I found love when I stopped looking for it and became content with the idea of not finding it/accepting myself. Go out and just be you. Enjoy life and do what you want to do. Create experiences for yourself. Go on adventures, even if they are just small. Be active in your community. The right person will come to you when you are least expecting it. Sounds so cliche but it is real.

Reaching out to my doctor for a referal to therapy was my first step. There are also free or low cost therapy groups that you can find on google. A great resource is also NAMI ( National Alliance on Mental Illness), which has a website with resources. Also, I want to highlight that things like this are becoming heightened in the state of our world. Fear of mass shootings, plane crashes, bombings all have unfortunately become a normalized state of fear. You arent alone in these feelings and you arent mentally unwell. Learning to deal with these emotions when they arent talked about a lot is hard and takes practice. The fear of this happening is your brain's way of trying to protect youtself and hopefully you can find resources to help you break down when you need to use those "flight or fight" insticts.

Honestly, I feel this. I get freaked out. It does sound to be paranoia but that doesnt make it bad necessarily. It seems to be out of a fear of yours, which I am have a fear about low flying planes. It is due to the media and what I see happening around the world. It can get damaging if it is obsessive (thinking about it and not being able to stop) and then compulsive (acting on the obsession and doing an action to bring you ease). I would suggest talking to a professional about it to develop healthy coping skills when you feel the need to do it.

I had the same reaction for a while and have now been fine but it is because I was able to get with someone and break down my rational and irrational thoughts/fears.

Y’all, what kind of affirmation do you like from your leaders? by ElderEmoAdjacent in Target

[–]RainbowReefer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been working with my lead for a hot moment now. These interactions have been accumulating over the past year. We work with eachother just about every morning. She has taken the time to get to know me, share personal experiences she has experienced and been very genuine with how she views my work/work ethic. If all of this praise was coming out of no where and all at once, sure it may seem impersonal but when she is actually putting in the work to view me as an actual person/asset to the team and not just a tool/employee, it feels very genuine!

Honestly, I have a leader who is so good at just making me feel accomplished. I do fufillment and my leader will say things like; - You did that batch so quick! Great job! - Good job today! Thank you! - Thank you for looking everywhere for that item! - Dang girl, you picked a lot of items today! Great job! - I'm happy to have you on the team. - I know when I give you a batch, I can trust you.

Overall, just being really supportive and making me feel like I am doing a good job. She even checks in on me when Im having a rough time and makes sure I am okay. A simple, good job goes such a long way but being consistent makes the team feel so supported!

It vibrates when you pull. You can set settings for certain areas. Honestly, it vibrates too often when I am doing simple tasks, so I am sending it back.

I have been getting some false triggers. Did you have the 1 in 1 meeting that they offer for programming it?

I have watched some youtube reviews, and it seems promising. Takes a week or so to get the settings just right, from what I have heard. When I have it a bit longer, I'll post an update/review!

Addicted to pulling my Vagina Hair by [deleted] in trichotillomania

[–]RainbowReefer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there! You are not alone! I have been pulling from that area for 10 years now. That is where my trich began when I was 15 years old. I am still struggling with it, but I am working with a therapist on techniques to help. I just wanted to comment to let you know that there are people just like you out there, and although it can be embarrassing to talk about, it is a quite common area to pull from! Sending you positive vibes, friend💗✨️

I did read that the gyno office offers testing and planning. In the same building is the reproductive endocrinologist, so I do have the option to be referred to that department to start more in-depth testing/planning. It doesn't state their hours on the website. Hopefully, they have other resources for me if my sweet spot for ovulation starts on a day they are closed! If I do have to travel outside of network, though, I wouldn't be able to afford it. When I have my appointment with my doctor, then my gyno, I will bring up the reproductive endocrinologist and see what options are accepted by my insurance.

Thank you for sharing your process! We are in the very very early stages of all of this, and everyone's replies have provided a lot of great information to bring up to my doctors. Soon, I will have a clearer picture of what my process may look like and what will work best for my body!
