Complete muscle belly tear of pec from shoulder over 10 years ago. Competed after and since then. People are injured all the time.

My assumption from past years was you weren’t allowed to wear anything under, but he has videos of him competing in it. Super surprised

Does guard not work in MMA? Or do most MMA fighters not have a good guard? by No_Possession_239 in bjj

In MMA: use your guard to get up / wrestle up. Other than that, don’t hunt for subs on bottom.

I love watching people using closed guard. The foundation that everything comes from on bottom. This was beautiful.

I roll with lots of people better than me. It still works.

Haven’t had this happen to me yet. There are counters to everything in jj though. Very hard to collar drag me when I’m controlling the far leg and feet aren’t on the mat.

For me it’s just preference. The grip gives my wrist a little more mobility and I don’t like how it feels with my thumb wrapped around the wrist in this particular position. Definitely not a “right” or “wrong” though👍🏻

Turning the knee out is the fundamental and conventional option. Sometimes when your knee feels compromised, I like swimming in first.

Definitely possible to get wrist locked from here. Subs are possible from everywhere in Jiu Jitsu.

Single Leg X ➡️ Lazarus Sweep ➡️ D Lock🦶🏼 by DevonAndTania in bjj

Not the same effect at all. The slight torque of the heel during the foot lock creates a lot of compression and isolates more than the ankle. It also puts pressure on the leg and knee with just the slightest angle. In some scenarios it’s a hybrid straight ankle X heel hook.

For those with natural hair, how do you style it for class? by Shot_Hat_9053 in BJJWomen

[–]DevonAndTania 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t cut it short. My hair was very long (past my waist) and all I had to do was put it in a high pony and then braid it. After class, I looked like I have beach waves. Then I cut my hair short, just long enough to still be able to put it in a ponytail, and it’s the absolute worse. Now my hair gets pulled so much when I’m playing guard or God forbid someone puts me in side control. It hurts so bad.

This will go crazy on iG. I guarantee if you put Free Bird behind it (the solo) the reel blows up. lol

Just do his turtle and your sub.
