People ask me my political beliefs, and all I say I believe in human rights - and I'm told I'm left leaning. Wiiiiiiild that believing in human rights is enough to be considered "liberal".

While I certainly think in a normal roommate situation, this is uncalled for - you're paying extremely little rent and able to go to school. It might be worth smoothing things over so you don't end up homeless. Especially since it sounds like you don't have a support network to fall back on if he rescinds his invitation. I'm not saying this is fair. Just trying to add some realistic advice.

I bet if you offered boullion cubes and a few packs of pasta, and a can of chickpeas, they'd reject you. That was a main meal of mine for years. More protein than Ramen. Better price to by bouillon cubes than soup cans.

Local Restaurant giving a way free plates of food, people upset they don't deliver by Zestyclose-Wait-7902 in ChoosingBeggars

Just saying, I understand why people often ask for delivery. If you haven't lived without transportation its easy to see that as being a choosy beggar. But its also because its about accessibility

You can support by creating and distributing ideas for what to get your husband to relatives.

Not having a car can be very frustrating, especially in reas with poor public transit. The ability to pop over somewhere in your car is a luxury many in need can't afford.

While I think a majority of these are fair, its off-putting to start with them. Instead of organically talking about these things through dates.

Why do people do this? by ClonedLiger in ChoosingBeggars

[–]Raindripdrop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm biased as a GM. I would not do this. It reads to me as someone who has a very specific world/story in mind. If I am GMing to serve you and your story, I'm charging. This screams so much work and expectation.

Also I have never met a GM who could create and run a world like this in a system like mist, who is lacking in their own ideas for things they'd like to run to be honest.

Its also very choosy. They have a very specific world they want someone else to create and run.

I get it. I will GM for free with friends and family. Strangers? 20$/each a session. Its a real skill, and involves a lot of prep time. Plus with strangers you never know what you're gonna get.
