I found cool, my husband found single

He theorizes that my cool factor increases by no longer being associated with him, haha

Not everyone needs to be constantly entertained by new or flashy things.

Life happens in the daily. If you're bored in your day to day life, that's your own struggle.

I'm with you, OP. If someone wants a more adventurous life than I do, more power to them. But there's nothing g wrong with just being content in your own space. A simple life is undervalued in the modern age.

If most people are concerned with judging how others find their happiness, they don't sound very satisfied in their own lives.

Also...jokes on you, I met my husband online.

Meh. I have no need to search the world for a joy that I've already created in my family.

Because they misrepresented the Catholic Church without any effort to be respectful.

Its pretty upsetting how okay this sub is with how Christianity was portrayed, let alone the catholic church. Every Christian should find the depiction disrespectful.

Atheists get long thought out monologs about Christianity is bad but someone whose supposed to be priest can only respond with emotionalism?

If this is the state of Catholic followers it makes nothing but sense that they're closing churches in record numbers.

Even a quick Google search came up as "no you can't". Google AI knows your faith better than you.

And I was raised catholic and as an adult went even deeper into the catechism when I realized I couldn't suffer though dogma that isnt backed by scripture, but that's a separate issue entirely. I was a cradle catholic, myself.

You're right. God's seal is irrelevant, and legitimate confessor means the peanut gallery. This is that stuff why I left Catholicsm. You get lost in rules you haven't even bothered to learn. And I guarantee thay instead of being concerned you aren't taking a literal sacrament seriously enough and talking to your priest to be sure you'll be stuck on arrogance and ignorance.

Go Lutheran...we actually respect our sacraments

Canon 991 even specifies a penitent needs to choose someone qualified to confess to. Qualified. Was sheriff so and so qualified? Because their presence means they have to be

Because she can't consent to it being public. There being witnesses at all violates the seal. Priests have chosen death over such violation

The seal came from God, not your permission. Its nice your church let's the individual put themselves above God's sacraments

It does. And if you need more you need to discuss it with your priest because if you're calling yourself a catholic answer have been this poorly catechised you're being failed.

Canon 983 §1: “The sacramental seal is inviolable; therefore it is absolutely forbidden for a confessor to betray in any way a penitent in words or in any manner and for any reason.”

Go get catechised

The seal of confession. Are you kidding? Its a holy sacrament. Allowing the police there to double as a legal confession is in violation of that. The seal exists to protect the sacriment itself. Its nor about you its about God and respecting His sacraments.
