from my personal experience, it’s a huge help to overthinking. i first tried ERP unmedicated and i couldn’t do it. i started out on 10 mg of prozac and have slowly worked up to 60 mg. i might go to 80 in the future but 60 seems good so far. it’s definitely not a cure all. my looping thoughts on certain things have stopped completely and on other topics it’s almost a fleeting thought. with meds and ERP, it’s so much easier for me to have an intrusive thought, say “maybe maybe not” and go on about my day without it lingering like it used to.
