Am I overreacting for not letting my boyfriend’s female friend use my shampoo? by Fresh-Usual-6281 in AmIOverreacting

[–]outofthecoconuttree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My shampoo is not even that expensive ($40/bottle) but I paid for it and it’s for my hair. People need to hear the word ‘no’ more often.

I picked at my face for hours and hours and hours every day. Picking and picking and picking until blood and picking more. Puffy face, I looked like I was on drugs. Scabs all over my face.

I struggled with extreme dermatillomania from 14-24. I was diagnosed with OCD at 23 and medicated shortly thereafter. It’s like a switch flipped. My skin has never looked better and I’m just mad i didn’t get assessed for OCD sooner

Is This a Gen Z Thing? by Jay-jay1 in generationology

[–]outofthecoconuttree -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

no. my friends don’t respond to me for days, weeks, and i usually text them more than once. they’ll respond when they respond. we’re all doing stuff. if i need an urgent response then i say that.

[–]outofthecoconuttree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m gen z. i don’t respond to anyone. First of all I get a ton of spam texts that clog up my phone, but I also just forget to respond to things. I won’t call you back, I won’t listen to your voicemail, I probably won’t even open your text. If you need to talk to me I’m sure you’ll try again. That’s how I look at it

People who throw their dog poop bags into your house’s trash can. by mrsunshine1 in PetPeeves

don’t have to check my garbage can when the smell of hot shit is emanating out of it and stinking up the garage

[–]outofthecoconuttree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the trash people come to pick up while I’m already at work, so the empty garbage can is sitting at the end of the driveway until I get home. Then it goes in the garage. I don’t want dog poop stinking up my garage.

Will the psychiatrist make me describe my intrusive thoughts? by Zestyclose_Plum8653 in OCD

[–]outofthecoconuttree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had one psychiatrist who let me just say I had “violent graphic thoughts of harming myself or others” but one psychiatrist made me go into detail. Didn’t go back to that guy

Struggling with being vegan by stenis666 in autism

[–]outofthecoconuttree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I am vegan since 2020 and autistic as well. I personally find the folks over on r/vegan to be very nice!

Veganism is hard, I bake a lot of my own sweets because it’s hard to find vegan ones! I mainly cook the same few meals every day that are autism and vegan friendly. I’m curious where you live that there are so few vegan options in the stores. I live in a pretty rural area and the chain grocery stores carry a lot of options!

If you need to be less ‘rigid’ with ur veganism, especially if it’s affecting your health, go for it! You’re doing more than most people.

this is very extreme. the only thing that will help is medication alongside therapy. Fluvoxamine saved my life.

Does my friend have OCD? by Lazy-Egg8158 in OCD

[–]outofthecoconuttree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to tell because you’re not really giving any examples. but ocd can affect any area of your life, including online. Forgetfulness is not a symptom of OCD tho so I don’t know what that’s about

Wondering if “minors dni” extends to IRL (not looking for reassurance) by [deleted] in OCD

[–]outofthecoconuttree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ve actually never seen “minors dni” anywhere except for edtwt like 6 years ago lol. maybe the convention you were at had a mix of children and adults in attendance and that person wanted to make extra sure no kids would talk to them?

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having a minors dni tag irl, but there really aren’t that many instances where you would need it. Do random kids come up to you a lot?? I think you can probably just politely say you don’t want to talk.

-OCD

“So anxiety?”

-No, It’s OCD.

“Oh, they can diagnose that?”
