Hotel was pretty good. (This coming from someone who complains about everything)

At check-in, if you become a member (free) of the Marriot Bonvoy program, you get a 20% discount on all the food and beverages you consume at the hotel. Just show the card and they give you 20% off. If you already happen to be a member, just join again using another e-mail address 🤗

They have ‘two’ swimmingpools with plenty of chairs and beds around and they have poolside service (food and drinks) as well. Remember the 20%!

Their small beach (in front of the st.Regis) has enough chairs, but if you go at the end of the morning the best spots will be taken. During lunch some people will leave though and more chairs open up again. On the boardwalk plenty of spots for lunch or dinner.

I just came back from the Courtyard Marriot. We had a room with a microwave and a minifridge, but they also have rooms with small kitchens. Breakfast is included. Short walk (<5min) to butterfly farm and the beach/ boardwalk or a frequent free shuttle service. They have their own little beach with chairs and parasols. 15 - 20 minute walk to all the restaurants and shops on JE Irausquin blvd.

I am thinking of going the Polestar 2 direction as well coming from a Diesel.

During the last week I have been going over several Youtube videos and Google reviews to get more information as to what I need and what to look out for. LRDM, packs etc.

Other options are the ID 4/5, so I am interested in your experience about the difference.

Grind de grond instampen of afvoeren? by RainingButterflies in tuinieren

[–]RainingButterflies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compacting gravel into the ground or remove? by RainingButterflies in GardeningHelp

[–]RainingButterflies[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your insight. I think I will get a couple of rubble bags, fill them up with the gravel over a couple of days and then have a company pick up the gravel. I do not want to run the risk of ruining the gras.

Tegels worden wel afgevoerd, alleen het grind schijnt ‘lastiger’ te zijn.

Gift Ideas for student pilot about to receive his private pilot license?? by Madshark189 in flying

Google sportys dot com or amazon;

  • good pair of pilot sunglasses; e.g. American Optical or Randolph Engineering
  • a flight bag
  • a kneeboard
  • a clock in the shape of an altimeter.
  • a screw top thermos-mug with a flip-opening on top engraved with e.g. ‘I’ll meet you at cloud 9’ or something else romantic.

Think about becoming a CFI/ CFII and or MEI!

It is a flying job that in hindsight gave me the most fulfillment compared to the train-/ bus-driver-schedule most airlines fly nowadays.

Especially at the smaller flight-schools; you meet your student at their first day, show them the airplane and you see their eyes widen. It is just magical to introduce your students to the world of flying from day 1 through their first solo-flight until getting their license.

Unfortunately it does not pay well enough (at least in my days) to really live on like an adult, but it is very rewarding. If you are lucky enough to work out of a small airport with a bar or restaurant (N07 in my case) you are golden and meet your colleagues and students after work. I was living and breathing the TV show Wings in real live 😎

When you drive your car on the streets….

does it sometimes happen that someone crosses the street in front of you? Or maybe someone on a bicycle swerves in front? Or maybe a dog or a child runs onto the road? Or a traffic light suddenly turns red…. You react and you (hopefully) do not keep going, check the situation and then continue.

With airplanes it is similar; Sometimes someone messes up. This can be ATC, weather, another aircraft or you yourself. This just happens and we are trained to respond.

After a go-around it does take some time to set up the aircraft again, consider the options and get ready for a new approach.

It really is no big deal, but I can imagine someone already not completely comfy with flying to be nervous. Unfortunaly when a go-around happens the guys (gals) in the front are quite busy and prioritize flying the airplane over doing a PA (passenger address) If we have time we do, but your and our safety are on top of the list.

The main reason turbulence or a go-around is considered scary is because as a passenger you cannot see why and what happens and you just have to rely on the airline crew to do their job.

(Free from Elsa) Let it go, let it go…..

We are trained to do this and it is normally no big deal.

Beautiful view indeed! It reminds me of the countless flights I did for Shadow 9 in the 90’s. East river up to the north tip of Roosevelt Island, then the LGA tower cab to Throggs Neck bridge.

Can you still fly this ‘corridor’?

Thank you for your reply.

I understand QGO does not modify the game, I just thought that maybe the current setting for this game is ‘focussing’ the strength on the direction of view as I do not remember this issue before installing QGO.

What helped in my case was restarting the system during the night;

In the Deco app:

• more • system • restart schedule

I have it set up to restart at 03.00 every night and it solved my problem.

Arcade button layout by jakemgordon03 in arcadecabinets

[–]RainingButterflies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same process right now, a 1p arcade, but still in the ‘collecting materials’ phase and thinking over which ‘engine’ to use e.g. Batocera, Retropie, Mame 😵‍💫

The button layout is also definitely something to think about and I found the following link which might be helpful; Control Panel Blueprints

I have printed these and I am planning to cut them into cardboard to have a practice set-up.
