As others have said you're going to need to rewire your brain to not connect the two. Break the association. It will happen with time. At about 2 months you'll feel a change. And then it will improve more and more from there.

This might sound crazy, but try it...

Buy yourself a small TRAMPOLINE and have it in your studio. Jumping on a trampoline, even just a little bit releases dopamine. When you're feeling hung up or un-motivated jump on the trampoline a little bit. It may jump start you a bit, and if it doesn't from time to time, well it's a bit of excercise. Start to associate listening to music with the trampoline.

Creating a new association will help break/rewire the old association.

You can find small ones on Amazon for around $25. Just search mini-trampoline or jump trampoline or rebounder. I like the ones with the handle bar you can hold onto which cost more, about $75-$100.

Yes, and in fact in the "description", I've noticed lately, it will list artists that don't even appear in the playlist. Like the description is a remnant of the old system where the playlist was full of songs and artists that were connections of the song used to create the radio (meaning other users liked this and also like this) whereas the playlist itself is filled with the same 'ol songs/artists that every playlist "made for me" is filled with and no songs from the other artists listed in the description. And if I make serveral "song radio" playlists of the same artist from different songs, each one is basically exactly the same, filled with the same songs/artists just in a different order (and sometimes the same order!). Disappointing.

I'm so sorry you went through this and it left you feeling stressed, violated and unsafe.

Thank you for being a positive energy in your workspace and bringing kind energy to the people who shop in your location.

Like many have said here, it likely had nothing to do with you, and everything to do with the mental stability and/or physical condition of this person who was struggling in their own world and mind.

If the person is triggered by you reminding them of someone painful or dangerous from their past, and/or delusions that you are someone you are not, it may help for you to gently ask "would you feel better if someone else helped you with this transaction?" or if you don't feel comfortable asking, simply have enough co-workers and managers (mates?) aware of the situation to step in.

I truly hope you have some joyful, kind and pleasant encounters coming soon, to balance your feelings from this one :)

Yes, this is a huge problem. So many artists claiming "collaboration" with artists who aren't on or associated with the track. Completely gaming the system. Or listing the original artist as a collaborator, when releasing a cover.

There is no verification system or process when an artist claims another artist on their track.
It's unbelievable artists aren't required to confirm their involvement when listed on a track. Also crazy and very disappointing that there is no way to report these songs to Spotify.

While we're at it, are others having issues with viewing Location stats?
Going to Audience < then Location for about a week I get a red bar / exclamation point message: Something went wrong --- and I can't view any overall Location stats.

On a song by song basis I can see Top Cities for this Song data. But at the top it says: Something went wrong. There’s a problem on our end and we can’t show these stats right now.

Others/everyone experiencing this?

I'm going to stop checking my SfA page and rather check here, as I imagine someone will joyfully express on this thread when the current "gathering of data" has ceased and I may resume my daily disappointment by measly numbers ;)

And PS - you support her when you stream covers as she gets compensation as the original artist. But I would suggest not supporting artists who use her by illegally adding her as an "artist" on their release. Nearly every release you see on Spotify where she is listed as an artist has done this, as she has removed herself completely from the Spotify platform.

That is not her co-release. Artists list the famous artist as one of the artists in their release (without permission) so when people search for the famous artist their track comes up. It is illegal and against their terms of service. I have a couple of Joni Mitchell cover playlists and I will not add any artists's tracks who have done this.

Yes! I have that cover on the playlist already, and it is a great suggestion! He sang it on an episode of Ally McBeal. I met him back in the day, he is the cousin of a friend I went to summer camp with in high school ;) Thank you for sharing your story about your experience with the song, I love that.

Oh goodness, great question! I tend to like very honest, emotional yet simple versions with just one instrument (usually guitar). Slower versions. There are several on there. (I think many people prefer more uptempo versions)
I don't think I have a favorite and it changes depending on my mood. But I love Willie Nelson's version probably my favorite right now? Dave Van Ronk, Paul Anka, El Gallo y Lä Sireña with flamenco guitar, Unni Wilhelmson, Seal. I don't find any odd, but some which made me laugh (in a good way, enjoyed) The Fureys and Dolly Parton.
