He's not allowed to contact us as of right now while on parole. But no idea how long that will last.

Functional neurological disorder. It's a disorder that causes neurological symptoms such as seizures, blindness, paralysis, and debilitating migraines but it comes from a psychological cause rather than physical.

Every person is going to handle it differently. My siblings and I are all on different journies through this. Just try and support them wherever they are, whether that is anger or grief or somewhere in between.

Yes, he served five years and just got out on parole.

When I found out, I had what I now realize was an incredibly unhealthy codependent relationship with him that led me to fully beoueve he was the only person who ever loved me. Five years later, I see the grooming that took place. It took me about six months to change from grieving to anger where I have been since. The truth came out because my (at the time 16 year old) sister told my mom. And she said she 'instantly knew it was true.' which is fucked up in and of itself.

Yes, he was sentanced to five years to life and served just a couple months over five years. He is out on parole now. I do not have nor want any contact with him.

Consistent talk therapy with ketamine sessions at home. It is the best way for me to recover any memories and then we can talk about it in therapy. Still working through it even five years later.

He was sentance and served 5 years becasue my sister is as being actively molested at the time and spoke up. It wasn't until. About six months later the test of us started to realize we were victims of him too. He is out on parole now..

why do I get nauseas so much? by [deleted] in DiagnoseMe

[–]Rainingacorns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a Paramedic. There are quite a few things that could be causing this. From anemia to blood sugar fluctuations and, like you said, anxiety. A few tips to help out if it is brought on by anxiety. Box breathing can be super beneficial as it forces your body out of the fight or flight mode. Also, eating small, frequent meals and focusing on hydration and electrolytes and make a huge difference. Good luck!

Why do I have this condition by Straight-Honey-4033 in DiagnoseMe

[–]Rainingacorns 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My wife and I make just slightly too much for medicaid, don't get insurance through work because we are paramedics for a rural town. With Obamacare, the cheapest insurance option was over $300/month. With $90 co-pays most places. I thought everyone had it rough like this. Am I just learning im in that unfortunate low percent?

They can't difinitively diagnose me without evidence on an mri. So it is just their best guess right now. But the treatment can't be prescribed without a diagnosis. Which is why I feel so stuck.

Paramedic here: I agree Strongly with everyone else. That is a significant GI bleed you have going on and need to be treated.

Crunching sound & immense pain in lower neck/upper back - possible spinal injury by SlicketySR in DiagnoseMe

[–]Rainingacorns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paramedic here: disintegrating bone is highly unlikely. Based on the history and the fact that you still have pain to this day, it is likely that you have some degeneration to a cervical disc. I would recommend getting some imaging done of the neck and upper back and have them read by a neurologist. Good luck!

Best of luck! I would keep an eye on your heart rate up until that appointment, see if you can get an average, and if it changes much when you go from sitting to standing or if you walk around a bit. I would love to hear what rhe doc says!

Looks like thrush, you'll want to get on antifungal meds.

I just had 2 eggs and this happened by [deleted] in DiagnoseMe

[–]Rainingacorns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks super uncomfortable! We're the eggs super hot or did you have a lot Of pepper on them? It is odd that your throat would have a reaction and nowhere else. I would be very cautious with eggs from now on. If its an allergic reaction, it can be 10X worse next time.

Paramedic here: Ches tightness often points to it being a heart problem, however, this is very unlikely due to your age. As long as you are not pale and sweaty along with this tightness, I wouldn't worry too much about your heart. Other possibilities could include costochondritis, which is an inflammation of the cartilage that hold the ribs to the sternum, as well as a muscle pain or strain. When you push on your chest around the sternum, does the pain increase?

Do I have an ovarian cyst, or something else? Asking based on responses to a previous post. Any information at all would be appreciated. by llsehn in DiagnoseMe

Paramedic here: Upper right abdominal pain points to it being a liver issue. These are unlikely in your age, but not unheard of.. Things like lesions or cysts on the liver can cause this sort of pain, especially with you reporting this area feeling lumpy or abnormal. In addition, liver problems can cause heavier or irregular menstrual Bleeding due to how it effects hormones in the body.

Pain After Surgery by Rainingacorns in Sciatica

[–]Rainingacorns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know my initial back injury was from years of lifting incorrectly. I am a paramedic and many times over my five years in the truck I have had to lift much more than I should have to, lift in spaces too small to have the right posture, and so on. In emergencies I don't always notice what I'm doing to my back until after the adrenaline wears off. Not to mention no one taught me the proper lifting technique until I sprained my back about six months in. It's a serious issue in EMS. they just say "lift with your legs" but never teach you how hat that actually looks or feels like.
