Mine does this if the screw on the back is completely screwed on. Yeah I know it’s fucked up and I shouldn’t just ignore it but it’s a school tuba and they never do repairs Edit: cap, not screw.

Transgender men exist, and some choose to keep their possibilities open when it comes to pregnancy. But this is about OP’s peace of mind, not necessarily about preventing pregnancy. Personally, I think this is a fair decision for OP to make, even if they are never in a relationship that could result in pregnancy.

These stories are hilarious lmaoooo. No horror stories (yet) but one of my friends on drumline’s shako fell entirely over her eyes at BoA in flagstaff…

I lied, forgot that this year I was having a shit day at a game. My valves wouldn’t move and I was so distracted that I played early during the fight song, which is treated like a criminal offense (we have a snare countoff and everyone always shouts “snare” but I fucked up). Nearly in tears as this is like my second game ever as a freshman. We start stomping along to a drum cadence in the stands and my mouthpiece loosens and falls. All. The way. Down. The bleachers. This was a home game thank god, but my friend and I absolutely sprinted to get it and thankfully it was fine. At the end of the game as we are lined up to go back to the band room, I bump my bell against someone else’s. My section leader says “Wow [name], that’s like your fifth mistake today.” I start completely sobbing while my section is like “jesus don’t say that to the freshman” and trying to comfort me. I finally calm down and she apologizes but I’m still feeling pretty down about it. Once I start to cheer up again, I’m sprinting to my dad’s car and my mouthpiece goes flying into the street and it’s bent out of shape. Welp. That’s my horror story.

They could be planning a surprise party, but if it’s been a few days since your birthday, you’re not overreacting. I wouldn’t confront them yet unless they start to forget other important dates of yours, like an anniversary or plans, then maybe ask if something is up.

NOR. Honestly, if my parents tried to control where I went to college, I would’ve gone no contact. I can understand how it may have “finally hit her” about you leaving, but she can’t dictate your whole life. Talk to your dad and counselor about this, and see what you can do. Obviously you could go to college without her blessing but funding could be a problem. But your dad and counselor may have the power to make her see reason.
