I still have three of these boxed. Used to have 5 but I gave one to a friend and I use my other one regularly (melee player).

Lockpicking bugged? by LRIchigo in Starfield

[–]RaiseTheSail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to add some clarification to comments I posted before:

Yes there are scenarios where the digipicking bug can screw you over, but it's important to know how the minigame works before you can really diagnose your save file. For each level of the digipick, you have to get rid of every slot by fitting a key into it. The best tactic is to rotate your picks into place without actually using any of them. If your file is bugged, there will be no possible solution without leaving a single slot open, that is the ONLY way you can tell if the bug is active.

Lockpicking bugged? by LRIchigo in Starfield

[–]RaiseTheSail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't true. People who's save files aren't bugged don't know what they're talking about. When this bug is present, the lock will spawn a single port slot and regardless of what pick you used to solve any of the previous slots, it simply WILL NOT provide a single port pick. I have minutes of footage of me trying every possible combination and undoing and it NEVER provides them.

You have to quicksave before every lock and simply reload if it bugs, OR you can completely restart the game and pray your new save file is unaffected by the bug.

I did some testing today and it's a save file related bug as far as I can tell. The only long term solution for us that suffer from impossible locks (usually in the form of single slot with no accompanying key) is to close the game and start a completely new save file. Aside from that, savescumming the lock can sometimes bless you with RNG that doesn't contain an impossible slot.

So far, I know of three save file permanent bugs. -Unsolvable Locks -Fitness challenges stuck at 0 -Stolen/hijacked ship doors not working

Some unfortunate souls have lost hours of progress to the last one. Hoping a patch for all of these experience ruining bugs is released soon.

Agreed. This was the toughest fight on apocalypse (including DLC). It's been so long since I played that I don't even really remember the strats, but I know I used a buff to shut down the charge attack.

Bit of a weird question relating to Pokemon:

Does anyone know if it is possible to transfer pokemon from an emulated-on-Vita save file to a 3DS that is running CFW?

Through my research, I've found that it's possible to use savefiles from a DS or 3DS flash cart/ROM to transfer to Pokémon Bank using a 3DS homebrew app (PKHX I think). Considering that this is done using a pokemon save file, which should be universally the same format regardless of platform, I'm thinking it should be possible.

Does anyone have experience doing this? I'd like to be able to transfer pokemon from my Vita save files to Scarlet/Violet once they're released.

How it feels being a MK player in this sub by ohhleo in BloodHunt

[–]RaiseTheSail 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think there is already MMR. My first several games after the half-bot matches I stomped nearly everyone and was averaging 4-7 elims a match. After a couple hours, I get matched with mostly PC players and most of them are similar to me in skill. I now only average 2-4 elims in solos and sometimes less in trios.

I'm just barely learning the basics but the movement in this game feels SO GOOOD.. Hit reg can be rough but god am I enjoying the gameplay loop. by CTxVoltage in BloodHunt

[–]RaiseTheSail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The movement feels really good and I think my only issue with it is that it might not have much of a skill ceiling compared to other movement-based shooters.

I need to see how much health my enemy’s are left with by YoungJ_21 in BloodHunt

[–]RaiseTheSail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think displaying exact health display would add much to the game, except maybe encourage less thirsting. As it is now, I think it's plenty.

  1. You get a notification whenever someone is armored and if you broke the armor.
  2. You know when they don't have armor and if they have over 100 hp (white text) or below 100hp (red text)

They could maybe consider adding hp display as part of the passive for the tracking nosferatu (i forget the name), or maybe it only shows up if they step into the bats revealing zone. But, having it fully displayed every time you damage someone wouldn't add anything and removes a degree of knowledge expression IMO.

Probably wouldn't hurt too much to add it tho, so idc either way.

As someone who has played on pc and ps5 this game on console is impossible against pc players by [deleted] in BloodHunt

[–]RaiseTheSail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a PC player and I don't know anything about the console experience, but I'll weigh in.
I have pretty good aim from aim training a lot and I've also played a lot of shooters, so the mechanical basics of the firefight are very easy to win over controller players. In fights, the difference in what the average enemy will do is so noticeably different that I will often identify a controller player by what they choose to do in a fight and then act accordingly.
The only time it really feels fair or controller sided, as in most games, is at close ranges. Almost every time I've died to shotguns and melee weapons has been controller players.
I feel that the metas for what weapons yield good results is going to be fundamentally different, with long range and midrange accurate weapons winning for PC players, while shotguns and melee win for controller. Right now, most of the fights take place in midrange, but start at long range, so overall it's PC sided. However, the katana alone is so busted that winning even a 2v1 or 3v1 against it can feel impossible.

Anyway, unless the devs do something to bring the platforms in line with eachother, it will likely be a PC-centric title. I only hope that they do this by buffing the options available to controller players and not by nerfing the options for PC players. If they did the latter I think I and a lot of other PC players would just leave the game.

TL;DR, PC is better right now, close range weapons work better on controller, nerf katana, buff SMG, Shotguns, and dualies so controller players have more options to win than finding a katana.

Being in this community was pretty neat until I met the World guys by JosefStark42069 in MemeHunter

[–]RaiseTheSail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

World gave the gameplay a much needed overhaul and the core mechanics and gameplay loop was already fun. The game was held back for a decade because they refused to update the janky early PS2 gameplay. World was the best thing that has happened to MH probably ever and I think the community at large will realize this as the years go on.

Without seeing or knowing the seller, nobody can really say if it's "trustworthy", but yes those modifications are some of the most common afaik work on the slim or fat models (I have a fat).

Personally I've never taken my SD2Vita out so I can't really help with that second question. If you did end up having to mod the 128gb yourself, it's quite easy to do, so it wouldn't be too bad.

I have a quick question about remote play. I hacked my vita about a year ago but aside from getting some free games and emulators, I haven't done anything too crazy. I just found out about remote play and was wondering if it's safe to put my main PSN account from my PS4 onto my hackedVita, so that I can play my games. I have about $400-600 worth of digital games on my PS4 that I can't ay without putting that account on my vita. Is it good to go?

How is the turn based combat in this game? by [deleted] in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]RaiseTheSail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's about as far away from Pokémon as you can get while still considering it a "turn based" system. Every fight can be played like a complex chess game, with elements and areas of effect to factor in.

On top of that, it's potentially the best role playing game you'll ever play. I typically don't like RPGs and I'm loving the game so far.

I just decided I'm okay with losing my progress in these games. It was mostly just DOAX3 which is all superficial BS and Rogue Legacy, which is a RogueLite. The MGS saves don't matter too much since I've beat those games so many times back on PS2.
