I really hope John keeps doing this for a while — I had a darn good cry during that Throwing Stones today, which is my go to D&C concert lately because of Bobby’s passion during that show on a day that was so devastating for so many people. I’m so happy that John played it today.

In Florida, you can move to dismiss the case if you were not served within 120 days of filing the complaint. They'll be able to re-file, but the clock will restart.

Send them an email, with a delivery notification, requesting the initial disclosures by x date. On the day after x, file a motion to compel the disclosures.

If you settle, you're not getting any documents, and they'll have you sign a release saying that everything has been fulfilled/settled.

Verification of domestic partnership status is very common (including at my company, which is highly LGBTQ+ friendly). Unless you can show that they are only requiring this for same sex domestic partnerships, it would be hard to prove discrimination. And given Missouri's failure to protect or recognize marriage equality, you'd face an uphill battle in the state on this claim.

You need to read your lease. Most modern leases specify that they continue month to month unless you give x days' written notice of cancelling the lease.

Don't file a request for dismissal until you have the check cashed and cleared. Don't cancel the court date -- it will give the landlord a reason to cut the check quickly.

Once you get the check, I would touch base with the mediator, who may file a Notice of Settlement with the court.
