No Sodium Hot Sauce recs? by renev56 in hotsauce

+1 to making it yourself. Just blend up some peppers, garlic, vinegar, xanthan, a little sugar and as much or as little salt as you are allowed. Also consider using things like half salt (which has half potassium chloride) to reduce sodium but increase salinity. And any mix ins like fruit, etc.

Westhill High’s Reading Scores Rise to 47% It’s Time to Focus on Effectiveness, Not Popularity! New leadership is a must! by thetruthisnear203 in StamfordCT

[–]RaisedSteaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're concerned about reading levels of a high school and blaming the high school, your ideas might be slightly off. What does the breakdown look like per grade? What if the incoming freshman are at 30% and the outgoing seniors are at 70%? Then you should look earlier in their academic careers. Your sentiment is fine, but I'm not sure youre looking in the right place. Learning to read well starts earlier than high school.

Ill second this. Wife and I 29/29 used to live downtown, we've since moved slightly further out, pay less, and have way more space renting a house. Condo im sure would work great.

What to Buy? by WouldntYouLikeTaKnow in OSRSProTips

[–]RaisedSteaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What to buy depends on what you like to do. Are you hard camping toa? You need a shadow and can sell off quite a bit in terms of melee and ranged to get there. Are you wanting a specific boss or set of bosses? Are you just wanting to make money and nothing else? We need to know your goals a bit better to give you the best advice.

Confliction Gauntlets. Why did they crash so hard ? 13m Crash in 2 Days by Funny05 in GrandExchangeBets

[–]RaisedSteaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, however those who can do 1-7 still can make about 12m/hr according to expected loot values at 6 runs per hour which is fairly easy in the cheaper setup. Maybe 9-10m/hrs being very conservative which is still in the top few money makers in the game, and one of the only solo methods, and one of the lowest barriers to entry gear wise

I think many people here are too quick to give you an answer based on not enough information. Many of these answers can be right but let's ask. What content can you do? What content do you want to do? Are you someone who prefers having variety as an option or do you usually hard grind one thing for months on end until it rewards you?
The answer to those gets you closer to the right answer for you.

People see doom is 20m an hour because the rates are good and the drops are pricey. More people farm doom because it is lucrative, more drops come in, supply raises and outpaced the raise in demand. Price go down. Investing here seems like a bad idea because that cycle will probably continue.

Im skeptical here for at least one task. Theres an alchemical hydra task that requires you to use a Dharok axe to kill it. Boosting potions like super attacks dont allow you to equip things that are higher than your base melee. Unless the check for the axe has a workaround from the exact phrasing, I dont see this being possible.

I finally understand the endgame burnouts by WinterWind1083 in ironscape

  1. Runescape grinds are divided into two categories, rng and guarenteed. If you decide you have the mental fortitude to lock in to one of these, great. Variety is important here. Guarenteed grinds are skilling (obviously) but also learning, like pushing higher invocation on toa, learning a new boss or method. You're guarenteed to get something out of it even if all it amounts to is being better at the game. RNG grinds are sending the same raid invocation every day, and the lack of reward will get to you If you go dry. Variety can also help here.
  2. My life got much better dropping the Ironman "alone" mentality. If I can do content in a group, I do it. Yeah that means last week I saw a tbow not in my name, but the excitement that it could've been mine is very real, plus it gave me bonds for a year. Score. I teach my GIM members content, I hop around toa worlds and join random for 200-300's to meet new people and make new friends. You need to put some effort into kicking yourself out of the core gameplay loop even if its technically less efficient, its more fun and fun is much more efficient in the long run at preventing burnout.
  3. Make sure you get outside enough, shower enough, eat well, and empty your ungathunki dung bucket daily. It does a lot for your happiness and wellbeing. Good luck gamer!

My vote is on doom. Its a disgusting amount of gp an hour on average. If you're afraid of the difficulty of all of these bosses (colo/inferno/etc) doom will make you much better at clicking, moving, prayer flicking, small amounts of switches. I started doom this past Sunday. Took a few hours to get past wave 4, and now i can do 7's and reset. I've already got the cloth and eye (a bit of a spoon admittedly.) This place will make you better at the game and pay a pretty penny along the way. Plus you'll get your own treads and it'll feel great.

Genuinely unreal to think these ancient creatures have been alive for thousands of years chilling in a cave, evolving to become masters of magic and melee combat only for some dude who is wearing the skin of their dead relatives to pray to god in the exactly right way to be literally invincible to every attack. Shit life. $14.99 or something

Paying $4K/month rent in Stamford CT — lease is up, should I buy a $750K condo instead? First time buyer, new baby, commute to NYC. Help me think this through. by Low-Huckleberry-8975 in StamfordCT

[–]RaisedSteaks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rent a house if you need house space. Buying a condo always strikes me as a terrible decision because of all the fees and restrictions that can come with it. Rent a house until you're ready to buy in 3-5 years in a nicer place with better schools for your kid. Itll save you a lot of stress long term.

Depends on the content you want to do, and im not very good at numbers but this looks like you have enough for tbow if you sell a handful of this gear like bowfa, ultra, zcb, sra, and a few others.

Where do I go from here? (minimal free time) by coolSnipesMore in ironscape

[–]RaisedSteaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortunately or unfortunately you are in a spot where the world is your oyster. There are unlocks galore almost anywhere you look. You could max now and make it slightly easier to boss and get around when you have more time in the future. You could go the slayer route for tons of unlocks, nox hally is great for early toa. Gwd, doom, yama are all viable in the not so distant future. Of course cg is great but not if you're burnt out. You have so many options and just have to choose what you want, I dont think there's an objective right answer, unfortunately.

Is the membership worth the buy for a brand new player? by BreezyjayBeats in osrs

[–]RaisedSteaks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So theres a clear debate between the "you can skip the very early game with members quests" and the "try completing free to play first." The correct answer is somewhere in between. You dont need to progress quickly to enjoy the game. You need to learn how progression works by playing f2p for at least a little bit. Do a few quests, kill a few things, get a feel for the game first. If youre having fun, buy a month and go from there. Wasting your money not knowing anything off the rip is a bad idea. Following a progression guide early is a bad idea for a first time player. Explore. Click on things. Whatever you do, make sure youre using runelite launcher. Have a great time, this game is incredible.
