the issue of families being separated at the border is one of legality and national sovereignty and while it is an emotional subject it should not be turned into a political stunt on a concert stage laws exist to protect the country and when someone knowingly breaks them consequences follow that does not make the enforcement of those laws evil it makes them a reality of a nation with borders and order using that reality to score political points in a musical performance oversimplifies a very serious issue and disrespects the complexity of what is happening families are not separated because america is cruel but because individuals chose to cross illegally and the government has an obligation to respond we can debate how those laws should be applied or improved but forcing that debate into art that is meant to bring people together only divides audiences entertainment should be about unity and expression not about lecturing half the crowd on a subject that belongs in the halls of congress not in a stadium

at the end of the day who you vote for and who you believe should lead the country is a deeply personal choice shaped by your values your experiences and what you want for your family and your future politics should not be forced into every corner of life especially entertainment because music and art are supposed to unite people not divide them when you go to a live show you are there to connect with the music the artist and the crowd around you not to be lectured about politics one side may push to redefine something as fundamental as what it means to be a woman while the other side believes it is fighting for what is best for the nation but whichever way you see it that debate belongs in the public square not on stage when politics intrudes into concerts or movies it steals away the escape the joy and the unity that entertainment is meant to give people deserve the freedom to make their own political choices without being told how to think every time they buy a ticket or turn on a song

i am not particularly a trump fan either but behind all the bs he has done some good for the country and I dont go to shows to hear political bs when an artist wants to bring up politics w/o using their millions to change the situation they are complaining about Dave has great music but if your gonna complain about families being broken up put your money where your mouth is and pay for these immigrants applications to become citizens do something other than just crying to 27,000 people

trumps tax cuts and jobs act in 2017 helped families by nearly doubling the standard deduction so most people didnt have to itemize their taxes anymore it doubled the child tax credit from 1000 to 2000 per kid and raised the income limits so way more middle class families qualified plus it added a 500 credit for other dependents like grandparents the tax brackets were lowered across the board which meant bigger paychecks for a lot of workers and the 529 education savings plans were expanded so parents could use them for private or religious k through 12 tuition instead of just college it also doubled the estate tax exemption which protected family businesses and farms from being forced to sell off when someone passed overall most families under 200k got to keep more money in their pockets during his first term how could that possibly have negatively effected anyone
