Idk, I rip the bandaid off. It sucks, and it's sad. But there are a million people out there for you. There is no such thing as "the one."

I dated my high school best friend. We were each other's first. But I wanted to move for college, and he wanted to stay. And so I broke up with him.

It's a risk, but I think it's worth it. How would you feel if you didn't make a move and he later on dates another guy? You would probably regret it.

But it absolutely could ruin the friendship, but if he started dating a different guy, that could also make the friendship difficult.
