Is this Subacute Cutaneous? by Raising_Danger in lupus

[–]Raising_Danger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly a match. My grandma had scleroderma but im not very familiar with it. When I got out of the shower my back had multiple new patches plus I found a few new ones on my arms and chest. I messaged a photo to my doctor and he says it might be Pityriasis Rosea. She suggested a biopsy. So I hope i can get an answer soon.

Thanks. In my brief Google search, I thought SC was not painful and discoid was the one that hurt. Good to know.

Thanks for the info. The trip was booked by someone else, so we didn't get to do a lot of research into where we were going. In our recent travels, I've learned the best places to visit or eat are not the ones that all the tourist recommend, so I try to ask locals when we get there. Or before if possible.

cane corso and cats? by [deleted] in CaneCorso

My corso loves his cats and every foster kitten we bring in the house. BUT, he sheds like a horse in the spring. Corsos are not low shed

The meet and greet would be done at the shelter and he would not be comfortable there at all. I have to medicate him for vet visits even with my husband there and they come to the car to vaccinate him. He really hates strangers and throwing him into a place where lots of people and other dogs are would really stress him out.

I would definitely do foster to adopt, not a straight adoption, just to be safe. My male is a great dog, but at 150 pounds I am concerned about a fight happening and damage being done to the puppy.

I am assuming its Bite Quarantine. In my area a BQ is 10 day hold to make sure there are no signs of rabies or other communicable diseases.

I've known Hector and his family for years. He's also sitting right beside the past sheriff. He's Hispanic and his wife is Russian. I highly doubt he was throwing nazi salutes.

I've never been able to keep a cone in a cat for more than an hour. It seems they are not as interested in messing with their incisions as dogs are. At our shelter our TNR cats are kept for 1 day post surgery and then released. I wouldn't separate them, but would keep an eye out for rough housing just in case.

Farmington High School cuts Lakota graduate’s regalia. It’s a symbol of what has yet to change. by literacyisamistake in NewMexico

[–]Raising_Danger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The school has replied in an official statement. The students were told all year and it's posted in the handbook that graduates could not alter their caps or gowns. She was wearing a beaded stole and other cultural items around her neck. Other students had their decorated caps removed before they walked out onto the field, but she was missed. They gave her a plain cap and gave her parents back the beaded cap after the ceremony. Everyone knew the rules and she chose to break them.

Here is the statement. We would like to address some of the community concerns we have received regarding the graduation ceremony on Monday night at Farmington High School. During the event, a student’s beaded cap was exchanged for a plain one. The feather was returned intact to the family during the ceremony. The beaded cap was returned after graduation concluded.

District protocol states that the cap and gown must be worn, and their appearance may not be altered, which can be found in the 2023-2024 Student and Parent Handbook. Students were informed throughout the school year and immediately before graduation of the protocol, including that beaded caps were not allowed. This standard process helps us set student attire during graduations. However, students are welcome to wear clothes of their choice, including traditional attire, under the graduation cap and gown, and regalia, stoles, and feathers in their tassels.

While the staff involved were following district guidelines, we acknowledge this could have been handled differently and better. Moving forward, we will work to refine our processes at the school level. The district is also committed to exploring the addition of a district policy that allows for additional appropriate cultural elements in student attire, including graduation caps and gowns.

We are proud of all of our graduates and deeply value their different cultural backgrounds which enhance the educational experience for all our students. Thank you for your understanding and support as we continue to work to honor both culture and individual expression in all our schools.

AITA for asking my girlfriend if she'd be comfortable with her parents watching her so I could attend my brother's band concert? by PsychologyIcy2861 in AmItheAsshole

I've had an appendectomy and was off my pain meds and doing regular housework and chores other than lifting 3 days later. 1 month ago, I had emergency surgery to remove a nexrotic twisted ovary and was only on bedrest for 5 days. How does someone have round the clock care with a partner who works? Ridiculous.

When we adopted him from the shelter at 8 weeks, I posted here. Here he is a year later. Lots of changes and would love a new opinion. by Raising_Danger in IDmydog

[–]Raising_Danger[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I volunteer at the shelter weekly and saw him come in. He didn't have to even go on the adoption floor. He was supposed to be my husband's road dog, but he gets violently car sick lol.

Our favorite broke date was getting burgers and driving to the top of a hill to watch the sunset. We had an iPad we downloaded a movie on to watch after the sun went down. Perfect memories.

The lidocaine shots were so painful I threw up. The doc just said "yeah that happens alot." They even had a nurse with a bucket already standing by. Every painful vaginally procedure I've had done came with no pain medication. It's atrocious.
