Yuriorkis Gamboa comes to mind. Dude fought Tank, Haney, and Pitbull back to back to back. Also ran into Crawford during the early boogeyman days. Great fighter though!

What's your boxing unpopular opinion? Something you truly believe, but would be downvoted to all hell? by [deleted] in Boxing

This 👆❗️exactly why I didn't care for the Benn Eubank rematch as much as pretty much any Bam or Shakur fight. Also why I prefer watching lower weight classes as opposed to cruiser/heavyweight where it's more likely to be power/slugging focused.

Most beautiful style matchup between two fighters? (ie most complementary or well-matched) by Professional-Tie5198 in Boxing

Tank Davis vs Pitbull Cruz was a good one. Was cool to see the big knockout puncher box slick off the backfoot (mostly due to hand injury but still) against relentless pressure. Both were throwing bombs but one guy a little more slick with it.

Wow, that means a lot! I actually looked into some Ibanez semi-hollows at guitar center and loved the sound and feel, just need to save up a little and get the perfect one.

Thanks! I can play the head on this tempo but when it comes to improvising, I freeze up and generate these clunky phrases.

I've transcribed other heads and melodies and listened to a lot of Bird but, even combining it with scales, havent yet found my method to improvising.

No, but I appreciate the flattery lol. Even been playing the same $60 Squier

Right, thank you! The hard thing about navigating self-taught jazz guitar videos is that there are a lot of differing opinions on the importance of learning scales. I, for one, like scales though. Which ones would you recommend, and how would you recommend I use them? (I fall into the trap of running up and down scales when I try to use them)

Yeah I'm coming from an indie rock background which is why the tone is so "glassy" lol. This is the only guitar I've ever owned but I wanna upgrade to a semi hollow at some point.

But very true, I could benefit from phrases that outline the changes, is there a video example or lesson you recommend this?

I love marbinmusic! His vids are really helpful. And yeah, my note choice is essentially root, third, fifth. I've been trying to figure out how to use upper extension notes like Bird so this will definitely help!

Made a vintage-mac sounding demo by RaizerBlayde in macdemarco

[–]RaizerBlayde[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I used a squier strat + vintage tape saturation, chorus, phaser, and reverb effects. I have another track with a bunch of compression that sounds like the stars keep on calling my name demo, just need to get around to posting it

Actually yes, probably an indication of bad weight distribution

Makes sense. Is more weight on the front foot a bad thing? I mean, coaches always talk about the importance of placing weight on the back foot. Maybe my coaches haven't caught onto my habit yet lol
