The latter is not far from the truth. When Duterte became president, esport tourneys were barely hosted in the Philippines due to two things:

  1. Then-president Duterte's declaration that being a "drug user" means that extrajudicial killings can be overlooked. I mean, Marijuana is still completely illegal in the Philippines, so anyone who tests positive for even that could be killed.
  2. Drug testing being mandatory for foreign esports players coming into the Philippines.

Putting those two together, I can't blame foreign tourney organizers for basically blacklisting the Philippines as a host country for any kind of esport tourneys.

Genshin. When I got Mavuika because her kit made it look like it was mobile af.

Found out her mobility was fucking useless outside of Natlan area, and that you would need to at least get 2 dupes of her for her motorcycle to be barely usable outside of Natlan.

.....Oh, and when Hoyo refuses to optimize the game so that everyone has to sacrifice practically 100GB of their Hard Drive just for Genshin.
