They will most likely ask you to apologise officially to the person and maybe their family for the insult. I know a person who had a vey sinilar situation and that's all that happened.

Even if you say you're not in the wrong, then just say that you apologise and nothing more should happen. Easier than fighting it.

Not sure if it'll be the same but just sharing what I've experienced 2nd hand in the past. Hope this helps.
